For Fun:Million Dollar Question!

Put a number in your 3-digit number in your mind with every digit being different. example:312 642 986 ....
Reverse it and follow the procedure:
Number:123.Reverse it:321.
Calculate:321-123= 198.Now reverse it 891.Add them:198+891=1089.Try it
with every 3-digit number with every digit being different. example:312 642 986 ....1089=Magical?

There is a number of steps.Walking up the stairs by 11 each time,no stairs remain. Walking up the stairs by 10 each time,9 remain.Walking up the stairs by 9 each time,8 remain.Walking up the stairs by 8 each time,7 remain.Walking up the stairs by 7 each time,6 remain.Walking up the stairs by 6 each time,5 remain.Walking up the stairs by 5 each time,4 remain.Walking up the stairs by 4 each time,3 remain.Walking up the stairs by 3 each time,2 remain.Walking up the stairs by 2 each time,1 remains. How many steps are there?
:)

Is it like steps as in steps that you stand on, or steps as in there's a number of steps to solving this puzzle. I say there is 10 steps since there is 10 senteces involving actions to be taken.

2519 is a serious suggestion, btw.

It's divisible by 11.
If divided by 10 there is a remainder of 9
If divided by 9 there's a remainder of 8
etc

It's the smallest number that fits the requirement.

Of course, 30239 is also a legitimate answer, and there are many bigger ones.

The situation described in the first post works only if the first and third digits are not consecutive. As AcidHell2 points out, having consecutive first and third digits, you end up with 198 instead of 1089.

I think the example needs to have been explained more clearly - eg 312, doesn't work unless you specifically use 099 (as described below) and not 99. You start with a 3 digit number but it MUST stay in that format midway through the process.
