I passed this phrase on the way to Birmingham yesterday.

Discuss :D

Or just expound your hatred, that works too.

Personally I have no issue with Kwik-Fit.. because I've never used them.

I think the new phrase - "You'll be amazed by what we do".

What, you mean amazed at how badly someone can screw up very basic car maintenance?

^ I've only been to national recently to get the oil done, as it was cheaper there than me buying the oil myself.

I'd never stick my car into kwik fit, they're 99% retarded and rip off ****'s.
I do most stuff myself but anything I can't get the tools for i'll trust to my mechanic, i know him well and know he'll do a good job.

Only delt with them once and it really wasn't great.

I was a long way from home and got this really nasty high pitch sound from my brakes,i assumed brake pads but took it in anyway...

They tried to fleece me for new brake/pads/calipers etc on the fronts and strongly suggested the rears needed doing too! on a car with 30k on the clock. They then informed me the work needed doing immediately as the car was pretty much a "death trap" for a 150 mile journey home.

In the end I decided to just drive it the long journey home like this and didnt have a hitch (as expected), got it back to local garage and it just needed brake pads changing, the rest was all apparently still in very good nick.

Kowboy fit

I haven't been in a Twit Fit for a long time, but I don't remember there being many service advisors, which makes me wonder why they bother doing the 'hard sale'?

Do the mechanics work off of commission or something?!

I will never forget making the mistake of going there once for 2 new tyres-went in to pay and they said i needed 4, new shocks and new pads, guy took me in to the shop to show me and ended up saying i was right and they did not need doing.Apparently mechanic said they would need doing at some point-yeh, like tyres in a couple of years!

The best bit is when they say, "we are not going to let you drive it in that condition, the work needs to be done"

Oh really?, well lets see how you feel about that in a couple of seconds time.

I went into one in telford because I was desperate and 400 miles from home to see if they could put some new gaskets into the join between the manifold and the downpipe on my integra and they put it onto the ramp and he said him and the 17 year old apprentice needed to take it for a test ride because he couldn't tell exactly where it was blowing from

I told him he didn't need a test ride and it turns out they don't even list the Integra so they couldn't order the gaskets.

I took my girlfriends car there to get 2x new tyres as surprisingly it was the cheapest place to get it sorted.
Anyway, the car was close to needing a new exhaust as it was blowing from the front of the backbox... When I got the car back it was clear that they had hit the exhaust with something so that it would need doing even sooner. I took it elsewhere.

And whilst I was waiting for the tyres to be fitted I overheard the manager on the phone explaining to a customer that there was 0.01mm left on their brake pads. He must have a very good measuring device!

To add to the list, I decided out of curiosity to ask how much an exhaust would be for my trophy (which is never going anywhere near that place) his reply... £700.

Kwik-Fit Fallowfield. Steer clear.

took my rx7 to one of these places once. I made it very clear that it should be warm before turning it off. I even stuck a sticky note over the rev counter pointing at the temp gauge saying they shouldn't turn it off untill the needle reaches a certain point.

got a call the next day "er we can't start your car, i think the engines gone" So i came round and deflooded it. When i looked at the car, no sticky note and the mechanic had no idea that it had to be warmed up. He still insisted that i needed a new engine, at which point i explained to him if it needed a new engine it would because he left it flooded over night. The current engine had only 20k on it, luckily still going strong though.

urgh, some people
