you hi end pc owners with a console

I notice them but wouldn't say that they annoyed me, it is just part of owning a console, what do you want for a couple of hundred pounds?

do you ever get annoyed with fps that drop below 30 or the amount of time it takes to load a game on a console compared to your hi end pc?

I wouldn't say annoyed, but maybe disappointed with some stuff. For example, I played Mass Effect first time round on the 360, and at times (mainly in heavy firefights) the drops in framerate are dreadful. Picked the PC one up for a tenner a while back and it's a much more enjoyable experience. ME2 will be a PC purchase for me.

I do put up with it if it's a game that's 360 only (and it's a decent game),but really that's because there isn't any other choice. For multi-format releases however, I'll take the PC one 99% of the time.

No so much with the load times, but definetely from a graphics point of view.
Don't like all the jaggies and poor textures, and is gaming in 1080p too much to ask for. It really does make a hell of a difference over 720p, with regards to the ps3 that is. Only a few titles run at 1080p.

I find the jaggies and poor texture resolution and how many games are actually ~1024x600 stretched to HD res resulting in some blurring more of an issue than the framerate... most console games you don't have the high resolution/sensitivity feedback on controls like you do with a mouse when looking around, etc. so you can get away with a lower framerate when moving using a d-pad/aim assist.

I have a very high end PC (gtx295 i7 system) and recently tried the batman dark asylum demo on both my PS3 and PC. Both me and another PC gaming friend concluded it was a must to get the game on PC. We are even going to buy wired 360 controllers for windows.

For me, it's just a graphics thing. Love my PS3 and 360 for certain types of games but when it comes to seriously epic games I'm always going to opt for the PC.

The only game that has angered me on consoles is GTA4 on PS3.

Actually just gave up after a few hours, it literally runs in single figure FPS at points. Never had any other true issues with consoles games ^^ Obviously most games look sharper on PC but that's always a given.

Load times on certain games do my head in to be honest. UFC Undisputed is terrible for it.

Anti-aliasing has got a lot better on consoles in recent years, but it's still not perfect.

San Andreas on a PS2 looked freaking awful compared to GTA:SA on the PC for example... there's not that many 360 or PS3 games that look that bad visually though.

I hate long loading times. Been playing through The Force Unleashed again on PS3 recently because of the trophy patch and the loading times are killing me. Don't notice low FPS as much as I do on PC for some reason, probably because of the big screen plus you're used to lower FPS on consoles anyway. Saying that not many games drop below 30FPS anyway.

Something wrong with your game/PS3 then. For me at least it's not dropped below what I'd say was about 25 FPS.

Eurogamer ran a comparison of 360 and PS3 and both dropped below 25.

I had it on PS3 too and it ran like dog ****. The 360 version doesn't run much better either.

No way in hell should it have made it to release with the frame rate issues it has.

no, i just don't notice it, as long as it doesn't get a bad as GTA4 could on the PS3* then i really don't see the difference.

*going from my own personal experience of my 360 and my friends PS3 and our respective copies of GTA4

I do get annoyed with slow load times but other than that, I'm not too bothered about dips in fps. Even then it really just depends on the game in question. I mainly go for Console exclusive/Console-only games and it doesn't really matter there as generally, some of the big name titles are optimised or bring out the best with that system in mind. For multi-plaform games that are also avaliable for PC, obviously it will be the PC version where I don't have to worry much about these things, unless it is an unoptimised port. But yeah, general overall view for me is it is really dependant on what game it is.

No. I do notice some of the games that have bad screen tear or poor fps, i.e. Mass Effect, as mentioned. However I buy most of my games on the 360 by preference - incluing FO3, Bioshock, Far Cry 2 etc. I just prefer the large screen, ease of playing etc. that can be had on a 360/PS3. Also some of the XBLA downloads have been essential; i.e. Rez & Ikaruga reworkings.

My PC then gets used for MMO's or PC only games (i.e. Kings Bounty), or older PC Games (Diablo 2 or Baldur's), or essential MP fun (like TF2).

That's the way it's panned out this generation for me. I guess I've always prefered owning console games, and the difference on titles to date hasn't given me much to think about. Something like Dragon Age, could be tricky where if I buy I'm again leaning towards the 360 version.

Anyone do any multiplayer console style gaming on their PC? i.e. split screen/controller based?
