Well, mine was yesterday. Been looking forward to the Dragonforce gig in cardiff for months, so was really buzzing in the morning.
Took us 3 hours to get to Cardiff, (which is now my least favourite place to navigate) and ages to find anywhere to even park!
We found a small car park eventually, although we didnt have a clue where we were, just wanted to get an idea of how much is it to park.
I get out, head over to the machine, and a bus comes along.. I was completely oblivious to the massive puddle next to the road, the bus drives through it, sending a massive wave over the top of me, so I walk back to the car absolutely drenched.
Eventually, we found the student union in Cardiff, but the next task was parking, again. We parked next to the side of the road, trying to figure out what parking vouchers were, how they worked, and where you got them from. Luckily, the person behind us was just leaving and was kind enough to explain how they worked.
If you don't know: these vouchers are £1.20 each, to be used anywhere where the parking vouchers sign thingy is displayed, but depending on where you park, they are valid for different amounts of time! Some places you could only park for 1 hour, some places you could park for 5!
Whoever invented these must be slightly bonkers, what if you were only in town 15 minutes? What if, like us, you had never heard of these, were on your own, and didn't know where to get one, came back to your car after buying one, and had a parking ticket for not having a voucher?
Anyway, then comes the gig. The first support act were good, they were called firewind, really enjoyed their stuff and the crowd really got going. The second support act were hideous, lead singer sounded like he'd eaten a bag of gravel before taking to the stage :/
We waited ages for dragonforce to finally appear, and when they did... they were dreadful! The lead singer was drowned out by the drums and guitars, it was pointless in him even turning up. Also, some complete ****** decided to lob some beer cans towards them, and a few into the crowd as well, one of which hit me right in the face, so that annoyed me even more.
So.. how was your day?
