You know you're a hoarder when you find...

I'm a natural hoarder. But I don't like it.

I find it really hard to chuck stuff. Especially if it's usable. I've got a load of shirts (I don't wear shirts) that I need to get rid of. And garage is a bit of a dump.

Every now and then I'll have a purge. But damn. It's hard.

Add to that all my computers from 3 commodore Amiga's, various PC's since 1999, 3 kids worth of clothes and toys and over 300 Model kits...

I’ve still got 1200bps modems from the 1990’s. Literally a filing cabinet full of cables. And old water cooling stuff that I’m not binning because at some point it will have value again. As an antique. PA160 with shroud anyone?

My rule:

If I haven’t used it in 12 months and it costs less than £20 to replace it gets donated to charity, recycled or binned.

Few exceptions but after moving house earlier this year and it being an absolute nightmare, have been sticking to it religiously!

An original Cathar-supplied Little River Whitewater. And a Corvette heatercore with a Eheim 1250 pond pump.

I think I've still got an Abit KA7 board in the loft (part of my first OCUK purchase in about 99 or 00)
Linkits
Zoids
Space Crusade with expansions
A number of Snes games (and their boxes)

I was up there the other week and found a box of criminal records. They were from when my older brother did some work as a DJ, and believe me his taste in music was terrible (cottoneye joe, vengaboys and going down from there, I'm sure I spoted a Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince 9 inch).

I'm not going to count the tools in the garage, as it's not hording when they're tools...and besides some of them are antiques, potentially I've got some of the tools that were used to fit Winston Churchills bunker toilet :p (I'm semi serious, my maternal Grandfather was a plumber in the navy, and apparently fitted out the toilets in Churchills bunker and my dad saved some of his plumbing tools when he died).

There's old stuff in my loft but it's difficult to tell, too many boxes and packing material in the way.

So many good boxes, too good to throw away. Anyway, it doubles as insulation...
