You should always buy a new controller.

What we really need is a 3rd party controller that combines the triggers, feel and analogue stick position of the 360 controller with the d-pad of the PS3 controller and make it available for both consoles.

360 pad with a SNES/Megadrive d-pad would be much better.

Oh goodness isn't the PS3 pad horrible for first Person Shooters? :-( It feels so awkward like the sticks aren't placed right. I think it may be due to the 8 and 16 bit era controller with two analog sticks glued on to it design. After leaving keyboard and mouse I got use to the 360 pad pretty quickly.

Terrible.

I cannot use the ps3 pad at all for FPS. I have never been a fan of it but trying to use it to play killzone ... its just crap. 360 is so much better for finer adjustments etc. They should change it

A bit of isopropyl alcohol and some compressed air and controllers look good as new.

That said, I bought a DS3 from Japan when they were released and always give the "regular" sixaxis ones to my mates :p:D

They (Sony) should make controllers in different sizes, I would like my PS3 controllers to be just a little bit bigger.

I have had two controllers ever since I got a launch PS3 and they still work, is a DS3 that much better? (and as such worth the expensive pricetag)

I've got 2 Sixaxises and I bought a DS3 to see what it was like.

The weight of the pad feels better but there's not enough of a difference to make me want to part with the cash for another. I'm quite happy to use the Sixaxises when the DS3 is charging.

A lot of the time I even switch off the rumble in the menu as I find it annoying when it's on for a prolonged period of time e.g. when grinding on the rails on inFamous.

Reduces their enjoyment? Most retarded thing I've heard all morning.

People whine about it because they're too lazy to practice with a pad after gettng used to a mouse and keyboard.

I use a pad on FPS games a lot but even after many years I still don't like it. FPS games weren't designed for pads. This is why FPS games on consoles are made easier. It's to compensate you for having to use a pad.

Killzone 2 is a far harder game than Half Life 2 in their respective hardest difficulties, and no, it isn't because of the control method, it's because the enemies are hard as nails and smart as hell. I also didn't find Crysis all that difficult but i'm yet to complete that on the hardest difficulty.

Wrong. There is auto-aim on some games but not all. KZ2 has little/no auto-aim. Whilst it maybe not as quick and accurate as a mouse imo they're different experiences (said this so many times). I find using a pad is more rewarding as it's harder to pull off decent headshots etc.

That just removes the white plastic build up on the 360 pads. It doesn't fix the loose sticks and worn rubber.
