I got an eero mesh a while ago now and when we finally got fibre in my area that wasn't virgin I jumped on it with youfibre. 25 quid for a gig up and down. When they came and fitted they brought an eero with them and set it all up and it was great.

My contract was up so I checked on them and they had 2gig up and down for 30 quid so jumped on that. Checked my speeds a couple weeks later and they never changed. Went through the tests they suggested and now sent a new hub out to me. I really dont want a new hub as I quite enjoy the mesh network in the house and this would add a 3rd box to my room...

Can the eeros manage better soeeds or do I need the new hub?

You've exceeded the capability of the basic eero.

I found the new router is a lot better than the eero, so I'd see this as a nice upgrade

WiFi on the eero was weak to push you into buying the mesh, you might find you don't need it with the new router.

Presumably you can extend WiFi with the new router, but not my area so I'll let others chime in on that.

Well it seems the upgraded speeds are only for wired connections anyway. But do you reckon if i had the right equipement ie eero7 i could get the better speeds? As far as my limited knowledge goes the hub that gets my internet has nothing to do with wired or wireless so it should work? My house is really poor for signal so I have 3 eeros setup 1 in the hall and another at the top of the stairs. No hub ive ever had has had a good enough signal to sort this out for me.

Ill probably just keep it on the eero.
