YouFibre

Just gone to the 2gb package this week. Thought they hadn't activated my upgrade yet, but turns out I had to enable packet steering on my Flint 3 otherwise i was just getting 1Gbps max. Tried the YouFibre Hub Pro but what a horrendous UI. Highly recommend the Flint 3 for anyone who wants a better router.
Yep the UI isn't the best. Looks and feels very basic and reminds me of the standard cheap routers you get from BT, Sky etc. As for physical looks, it's not exactly small and is quite chunky. The wife is pleased its currently situated in the corner of the living room behind the TV unit so its not easily visible.

Eero I had previoulsy wasn't the best either, but I actually didn't mind the UI of the app.

Will take a look at the Flint 3.

The front line support can be poor depending on who you get, as I'd had no mails or account changes after calling to upgrade to You200 turns out they had done nothing.

To be fair the person I got this morning sorted the upgrade out in 2 minutes and posting out a new router with a email through to confirm.
 
Plugged pc direct into router earlier after installing 2.5gbe nic card to see if I was getting full speed. All good.

Have moved PC back to my office and back to 1gbe until I sort a new switch.



I know I should have used the share result option rather than take photo of the TV on my phone to then have to crop it. Ah well.
 
Just an update on mine...

The original front line person got back to me after I sent him the clause 3 T&C's. He apologised straight away and had the order placed immediately. I've had the confirmation emails through but does anyone know how long it takes to receive the new equipment please?

My router took abotu 3 days to arrive, not that I'm using it, but i think i did the order Monday and it arrived Thursday.

Funny one today, had a virgin media salesman turn up at my door earlier, purely because i'd been on their site doing comparisons a week or so ago. Told him what i was paying and what my speeds were, he instantly went "ah, fair enough, can't beat that, have a nice evening" haha
 
I like when sales people are like that and don't go on and on even though they can't do anything.

I had an engineer out yesterday doing the upgrade. I'm not sorted for faster wired speeds yet (still on 1Gb network cards) but the best wireless speed I had was 1300. The rest have been in the 400-600 range, even when stood next to the new router.
Apparently, I've had mesh for free as well as I had two Eero's but he couldn't give me a second one this time :D

Edit: I've got a Sagemcom router. Is there any way to change the name of each WiFi band?

Good morning all

I’m currently with Youfibre and they have been amazing FTTP service, internal network is Unifi!

We are now moving to another town and YT are active in that street (bummer) there are a few on BT Open Reach that are, Zen (expensive but a great provider) is there some that I should look at or avoid? Virgin Media are there but I left them for YF

I believe that YouFibre are planning to make themselves available on OR to avoid churn. Not sure whether is live or not though.
 
Bugger, might have been the Unifi POE switch firmware update that happened over night then :(
I doubt switch firmware would impact YouTube and only YouTube. Is it still down? Have you tried checking the DNS result you're getting for YouTube, pinging youtube.com or using another browser?

Hey bud, I’ve narrows it down to my account, if I sign out and go in as a guest it works? Will send a note to YouTube support and see what they say!
