Your 480!

Well i am hoping with my new case fans which im getting on saturday and my new airflow design/Mod to my CM scout that temps should drop by quite a lot :D so more room to OC!

I think I could do with upgrading my case fans too! The VF3000 doesn't exhaust any of the heat out of the case, so it gets a bit warm in there now!

On mw2 my system is using 333 watts. Thats around 100watts more compared to my gtx 275 and 6950 if i remember right. If i didnt need a 3d card then id be happy with my old 6950 i sold.

The 6950 was the other card I was looking at (my mobo is Crossfire) but the games I play on the GTX normaly does the same or a couple more FPS, also there allways the chance of the BIOS flash going wrong then I'd be £210-225 out of pocket, but thanks for listing the power draw, gives me a idea how much they use real world

The 6950 has a dual BIOS so if it gets bricked you can switch it to the other one, but i think you made the right choice if you went for the 480 due to a lot more companies creating games with PhysX you wouldnt think it but the difference is amazing :D

I knew about the dual BIOS, but I thought there was still a chance of it not being able to be recovered, anyway no point thinking about it now since my 480 got posted today :D along with 2 Alaska fans for my Antec 902

Out of interest, what fans are you going for? I'm looking at the Akasa Apaches.

Ok... just found out that I can quickly and easily disable and re-enable my 2nd display with windows+p!

Now that I can turn my second display off during the day when I'm working (since I only use it in the evenings) I'm getting idle temps of 44C with 35% fan speed, which I can't even hear! Excellent stuff! Can finally set up a fan profile without worrying about the trade-off between heat and noise at idle.

I also discovered that switching between displays in this way lets me recover from a driver crash so that I can alter clocks in Afterburner again without having to restart the PC. Bonus! :)

TBH im not sure, i have been looking at the Apaches but im going to overclockers on the weekend so i will ask them which is best for Airflow and sound :D
 
Haha what case you got? Ill ask to see which are the best for airflow, what size fans you looking to get and ill post back here tomorrow :D
 
Cheers, it's an old Coolermaster Stacker.
It has one exhaust and one intake, both 120mm. You can also attach an 80mm fan to one of the sides of the case, as well as at the top. :)

That 333 watts was on mw2 but on bad company 2 i was using around 400 watts at stock speed. Around 420 watts with 860mhz core at stock volts
