Your 5 year plan...

It's always good to have a 5 year plan. It means you can look forward to things, plan well and have some aims in life rather than simply "drift along". Also some things take time to happen so it allows you to take steps so you can be where you want to be in 5 years time.

Mine is:

-Finish my HNC at college at June 07
-Get a new job in my field of study. Hopefully earn more and save more cash
-June 08 my girlfriend will finish Uni in Russia and will be a fully qualified doctor. At this point we will have been going out for 5 years. She will hopefully come over here and I guess if we feel ready at the time we will settle down/get married.
-At this point, perhaps I will get a house with her, although I already have a house with my brother so Im not sure how things will pan out.
-Beyond that is hard to predict so no plan there.

What's yours? :)
 
Step 1 - Steal Underpants
Step 3 - Profit.

Finish CIMA training 8-12 mths,
beyond that see where things take me.
 
- Finish Vias applications this weekend
- Save like a madman
- Move just outside Toronto in 2 years time
 
Do my PRINCE2 in September of this year.
Spend the next six months using those skills in an insurance environment.
Move on to MiFiD work in financial services, hopefully increasing my salary by 50%.
Either rejoin old consultancy or my mate's new one.

In the meantime I want to pay off current morgage (this might take 7 years) and then buy a slightly bigger place and also a house in Italy.

Might buy some houses in Newcastle to let to students and get my old man to look after them.

Don't really have a 5 year plan. Though for the next year or abouts :

- Work at this job (commis chef) so that I can save up for a camcorder and a new PC (for editing I swear! ;)) so that I can improve my portfolio and some cash for:
- Work experiance in media (BBC, and some production companies), it's unpaid, hence the saving.
- Get a job along the lines of a runner, and take it from there.

5 year plan:

Win the lottery,
Buy large house in the middle of nowhere with a huge garage,
Do a mechanicing apprenticeship,
Work on my own cars then open a business prepping motorsport vehicles/doing restoration work.

Uh.. Steps 1-3.. Start and finish BA in Popular Music at the leeds college of music.

Steps 4-5, work fulltime as a guitar teacher (currently part time) to pay off some of my loan :(
 
I had a 10 year plan when I was 20... 4 years in and Ive forgotten what it was :p

My plans have just changed so dramatically over the past couple of years... I was all set to move abroad repping, then I met my other half... ;)

I would love to move abroad again in the future... dunno where, but there's time to think about it yet :)

My 5 Year plan... well tbh i have 4

1) Get Into Uni, Do 4 Year Course, Leave, Get Job In Games Industry, Put Deposit On House

2) Get Into Uni, Do 4 Year Course, Leave, Travel The World For A Year Or Two

3) Dont Get Into Uni, Get A Job, Get A Mortgage With The Money I Would Have Spent On Uni

4) Dont Get Into Uni, Go Traveling With The Money I Would Have Spent On Uni

All Depends on weather or not i get the results i need on August 17th, im praying, i know i should get a good grade in most things... but one subject may well let me down! TBH Would love to go traveling though, i will most likly do that in a few years no matter what happens, i just have to see the world, explore ancient ruins, scale hills and mountains to see breath taking views, explore modern cities, take in the cultures, come on who would say thats not an experience to take if you have the opportunity?

TBH I have though often about selling all my things, packing up, going traveling and just working my way around the world.... but its not that easy to get jobs around the world as far as i know, but if i do go traveling i worrie if i will ever come back..... i might find a country i love and settle there..... Ah well i *Touch wood* have my whole life ahead of me, im planning on enjoying it as best i can no matter what outcome i get, Uni or no... We shall see :)
 
What i want to do is get a job for a year or so (i've just graduated from uni), save some money and pay off debts :) Then go travelling for 3 months or so. Then maybe settle down and get a long term job and save for a house. The travelling is something that isn't really my kind of thing as such, but i just think it would be a great thing to do, and would increase my confidence massivly. Currently though i'm unemployed and sat at home, so i guess i've got a while to go ;)

Minus the restoration that is exactly what i'd like to do too, if I had the money, a no expense spared, any job taken, kind of mod/motorsport garage.
That and I'd build the best skatepark in the UK.
 
Still be married.
Be doing a good job raising my child, who will be hitting 5 years old by then.
Complete my training with BDO and get a few nice pay rises.
 
1) live through summer, try and get work (forms handed in) and finish the work i failed on this summer
2)come september, start second year in a new house, settle down into a routine including uni work, fitness, part time work and socialising to boost confidence
3)3rd year of uni pretty much same as second, should be in routine and i'd like to come out of uni with a 2:1 if i work for it
4) year in placement in office, confidence and work ethic should be up to scratch, i want to take this time to learn more about the world, start to settle down a bit
5) continue on with uni course, no need for part time job due to previous year in placement. hoping my improved fitness+confidence+maturity will help me find someone to care about and spend time with.

after this i have no idea where i will end up, if i will be in a relationship or what my job will be like. i've had a really bad couple of years which i am not proud of, fortunately i have the opportunity now to fix this.

Wow there are a lot more people with confidence problems than i thought, its taken me years, with my confidence, to start with i was always putting myself down etc... Now im buying clothes i like without worrying what other people think..... i am myself without the care of what people think.... and slowly im getting better at socialising though i still find it very hard, i can talk for a few mins but then i tend to go quiet.... realy hope uni/traveling will help me get over this and turn me into a nattering nut case :D
 
Get my electricial qualifications at college (down to do the C&G 2330 at sheffield college starting september :) ) and start up my own electrical contracting business (initially doing domestic work, but eventually branching out into light commerical, etc)

Rather hope I become less shy and actually get a girlfriend :o, I guess

Probably at least towards the end of the 5 years looking at houses, etc, I'd be getting on for 25 then, so it'd definitely be about time...
 
Plan for next 5 years;

1/ be not dead.
2/ everyone with 5 year plans, and who ask about them to be wiped off the planet.


Nice to know where you'd like to be , but not worth getting hung up about plans.
 
1. Finish uni
2. Get a proper job
3. Move down to England (possibly depending of a lot of things)
4. Have 23rd birthday
5. Make another plan for the next 5 years after.
