Your bad driving encounters/irritations

It could have been a can of energy drink.

Open alcohol isn't allowed on buses and even I've had to look twice at some cans of energy drinks to make sure it wasn't beer.
Possibly, but it had a beige colour which I'm sure I've seen on Special Brew or some thing.

Today's irritation: first hard frost of the year, yet lots of people driving with windscreens not completely clear, sometimes with drivers view almost completely obscured...and of course the wipers at full tilt doing nothing except tearing themselves to shreds. How hard is it to pour a bit of lukewarm water over the screen and blip the wipers before you set off.

People are lazy. I have seen it with one of my neighbour's whose Grandmother drops kids to school in her Sharan. She had wipers on full tilt with frosted windscreen. It makes me cringe. The empathy towards a vehicle is non existent.

Pacific Punch Monster is very close to a Special brew can tbf.

As for the iritation, saw a few on my way to work this morning with 'port holes' instead of clear windows.

Being a Ford owner I don't have to worry about such things.

I havent driven since 23rd Dec and no real plans to do so until 5th Jan... Walked to the supermarket a couple of days ago. Been bliss not having to deal with idiots on the road :D

Had to pop out to work at rush hour just as it had got dark someone, I'm assuming older person, in a Range Rover on personalised plates a couple of cars ahead of me was doing the 40MPH in a decent NSL thing, every time a car came the other way they obviously couldn't see and nearly got the verge or swerved into the path of the other car... through the villages continued at 40 in a 30 and where there were parked cars on the other side they just recklessly accelerated at the cars coming through the other way forcing people out their way... if I'd been a bit closer I'd have probably submitted the dashcam footage to the police, unfortunately between being a couple of cars back and the light being bad there isn't anything much to see on the dashcam.

Coming home similar story - I'll give them a bit of a pass on the speed front as it was -2C or below but the main road was well travelled and heavily gritted and clearly free of ice so they could have safely done another 10-15MPH at least. But the number of times they nearly got the verge when vehicles were coming the other way... there was only 2 vehicles coming the other way which were actually a problem - one forgot to dip their lights and the other was just crazy bright but saw them dip their lights on approach so they were clearly not on main beam still.

On my way home last night I whitnessed a learner driver, in a proper learners car (had the triangle school thing on top), blow through some amber lights for a ped crossing, then tootle along at 20 in a 30. Imo the instructor should lose his licence for not teaching correctly.

You missed my point. I, perhaps didnt word it correctly.

If I go to overtake in an ICE car, the acceleration doesn't change dependant on how much fuel is in the tank (for the pedants - it might be insignificantly slower on a full tank vs quorater full tank due to weight)
If I go to overtake in an EV car, the acceleration may be different simply based on how much charge is in the battery.

I am simply arguing this on the basis of road safety.

I would have no issue driving an EV and I have driven and been driven in them on lots of occasions. I think they are great cars. This is not a "I hate EVs so I will **** them off whenever I can" type of post. I do, however, seem to find that EV owners can be quite defensive if anyone brings up negatives to an EV car which I find bizarre. More so when EV owners like to do similar to ICE owners.

Both ICE and EVs have their advantages and disadvantages.
Sounds like they would need some capacitors.

Cope-pacitors, maybe?
You have voltage sag when you draw high current.
Then as the voltage of the cells drops the power you can pull from them also drops.
Stick a smaller super capacitor in like they use on some electric trams and buses would solve the issue for overtaking.

Not a bad idea. Almost like an overboost you get on Turbo Charged cars - Bit more power for a short period of acceleration before reverting back to lower "standard" power

Peak rating of batteries mean you would need to then fit a MUCH bigger motor to make that idea useful - which is why its not a thing.
