Your best CPU ever!!!

A64 3800 which i had running at 3.2ghz under a mach2GT, good times

i was just going to say the same, I briefly got into phase when the X2 3800s were released, I recall a bunch of us competing for top honours with those chips, its the only one I've ever bought a specific stepping off in order to go record chasing :)

I guess other than that the P4 570J I had was the first chip I ever successfully clocked, that's got a place in the list, everything else has been a bit underwhelming (Q6600 G0, E6700 etc, all a bit rubbish) think I'm growing out of clocking tbh.

AMD Barton 2600M Socket A 32bit (whatever stepping was the golden one).

2.8GHZ @1.850v on Air with 200x14.

Or using FSB over Higher Multies up to 550FSB DDR (275MHZ in bios).

My E4300. Fantastic little cpu that clocks to 3.4Ghz. It was like a breath of fresh air coming from a AMD 939 rig with a 4000+ that struggled to hit 2.8Ghz (measly 400mhz overclock).

BP6 with Dual 433mhz intel celerons that i managed to clock to 800mhz each, made for a quick PC back in 1998ish.

Or :

3.06Ghz P4 when it first came out, cost me around £550 from OCUK hooked up my Vapo
to it watercooled everything else AC unit blowing into the case and i got 4.1Ghz and a very nice benchmark out of it!

Loving my Q6600 very good chip but my fun days of overclocking are over me thinks :(

Hopefully the current Q9550 :D

Past cpu - probably 3=1sts

AMD s754 3400 - not overclocked but fastest single core I owned

AMD x2 3800(s939) - first real go at overclocking (2.4) and dual core

E8400 - massive improvement over Opteron 185 both at stock and when overclocking.

Best appears to me, to be the current fastest clock i can acheive, and usable 24/7 (4.3 gig on a E8500). Big gain was 3.6 gig from a E6300. Barton 2500 was also a good chip once upon a time.

Close call between my e6600 that i got to 3.7, or my current 3.6ghz (hope to eek a bit more out of it) Q6600. First ever cpu was an a64 4000 that i ran at stock as i was a bit wary about overclocking.:o

Fave was my old E2180 and getting an extra 1ghz + out of it. Now got a E7200 - wanted the extra cashe and lover wattage for my media centre... only got it clocked to 3.16ghz - no point putting it higher for a media centre....

Liked my old E2180, but my Q6600 is better. Runs quicker with less volts and with 2 extra cores. Great chip, best bang-per-buck ever IMO.

i loved my old 3.4 p4 was running happily at 4.2ghz did have 4.3 but not stable great cpu only sat at 28deg idle in a room with a ambiant temp of 18 was great! its served me well right up untill yesterday when i ordered an e8400 :D

Would have to be my Q6600 that i have at the moment. Even though it's a 1.325 VID, i've had 4ghz out of it ;)

My best cpu ever must have been my Socket 754 Athlon 64 3200+ :D
Loved that bad boy, brought me from the gutters of pc gaming to the Highend for the time ever.

Also blew my first mobo with overclocking using it :P

I actually still have my old rig with it in running upstairs in my old room at my parents place :)

As your so proud of the clock helmutcheese, like all of us you would have kept the Prime screenies as proof of 2.8ghz on air ? Love to see them posted again as a reminder of the past. Plus of course, no one in there right mind would loose the screenies of a 275mhz ram clock with a socket A, would they ? Would love to see you post them ;)

My beautiful AMD Athlon Thunderbird chip. It ran at a blistering 1.2ghz and lasted me a good 2/3 years back in 2000/2001 i think ;)

No other CPU gave me the memories that beauty gave me :D

My best was a P4 2.4c that sat happy at 3.3GHz. This was before they even released a 3.2GHz version of it
