No, the account isn’t an alt.

Any alt accounts found here are perma banned.

If we're talking about an alt account while the main account is still active then I don't have one.

I don't really know why people run multiple accounts at the same time. I've noticed a lot of people on Facebook have multiple accounts. I'll assume they do it on other social media sites too?

We've had several people banned here for doing something similar here, creating accounts to "buff" their arguments in Speakers Corner and the like

I used to be a mod on a large gaming forum where people would make alt accounts just to start an argument with themselves.

One very good reason for multiple accounts on the main anti social media platforms is you can then let your employers/work see one, and keep your personal one separate for family.

It sometimes amazes me how much personal detail people put on the like of facebook, especially as I remember 25 years ago how the advice was always not to put personal details online because it increases fraud etc.

I think the best one for me was having a legacy moderators account (under another name) on another forum where a certain group were using the private lounge to plot against me as Rroff...

Many years ago I had a moderator account on a forum and had access to a super moderator account, it was basically an admin account only to be used in emergencies (someone posts something obscene like porn in another sub-forum, no debate that it needs to be deleted ASAP but the relevant mod(s) for that subforum and admins aren't online so any mod could use the super mod account and deal with that sort of stuff in a subforum they don't usually handle).

Anyway at some point I and some others left this forum but... that super moderator/admin account remained with the password unchanged... so full access to the mods lounge admin privileges etc.. Obviously being a bit of a mischievous troll some fun was had, nothing too ridiculous but it caused a bit of drama and some very confused people trying to figure out the apparent "bugs" in the mods lounge.

Considering I signed up to this site / forum to build my first pc, there isn't much chance of having ANYTHING "legacy" older than this one. And anyone that slithers around on other accounts hiding in the shadows with "alts" are a bit tapped in the head if you ask me...

I had 4 threads devoted to me
I have completely toned down since those days, I used to push it just before that suspension.

The only alt account I had was on an anti OCUK site and I used to argue with myself

I'm still confused about whether we are talking about an alt account or just an account that rarely posts.
I guess the closest thing I have is an AVForums account that was primarily created to get free shipping somewhere else.

That reminds me, I think I've got a Mum's net account somewhere, IIRC there was a coupon that let you get a free compact flash memory card when you bought a cannon camera.

That’s very very sad that people feel the need to win a debate on ocuk.

I suggest if you have alt accounts just own up and have them deleted.

Give the mods a break.
