Your biggest ever let down game... EVER!

oh god almost forgot about spore. What a horrendous pile of ... after all of that hype and build up.

Assassin's creed was a massive disappointed. I would have had more fun setting fire to my £30.

MW2 was a pretty awful sequel. No dedis. short, poorly done single player. Pretty much the definition of a disappointment.

Spore probably. Loved the look and idea of the game when I first seen it, but just bombed completely when it came out.

Another for Far Cry2 , not only did it make fall asleep while playing it made me feel really sick as well.

Other games have been worse, some I've tried didn't get more than a few minutes play time but they didn't usually get the big build up.

I rarely pre-order games now after the last Total War Bore and Far Cry2.

WWE Smackdown! 2, then WWE Smackdown! 3, then WWE Smackdown! 4 and every other stupid one after that..

WWE Smackdown! was frikkin legendary.

Mine would be back in the days of the SNES - animaniacs, i was young, got a new game rarely, was in woolworths with my mum looking to get a new game, picked one that i thought looked nice and the disapointment when i played it was unmatchable :(

Enemy Territory

Us RTCW players had very high hopes for the Splash Damage release, but it was a massive let down. It was a great game to players that had never played RTCW because it was free and quite fun, however; nowhere near what we anticipated and certainly not as good as the original.

I dont think there will ever be a multiplayer game that comes anywhere near RTCW. It was quake 3 with world war two guns. It was everything multiplayer should be, fast paced and simplistic and the hit boxes where excellently placed so a good headshot player would kill a spray shooter even if he was caught first... I loved the fact that you could come back and win a gun fight even if you were shot first..one shot dead is too sim like... we need arcade fun!! anyhoo!! I miss it as you can tell!!!

.. and Wolfenstein 3 was just a mockery of the first two classics.

1. Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising - More of a joke really, I can't call it a game. I'm not even that huge a fan of the original, although I acknowledge it's a great game, but Dragon Rising was a huge joke played on all of us.
2. Supreme Commander 2 - if you have a game called Supreme Commander, the second iteration, you need to go bigger! Not downsize everything to a point it no longer has anything unique compared to other RTS games.
3. Alpha Protocol - I really thought they were making a great game. They weren't.
4. Assassin's Creed 2 - The first one wasn't a great game but had potential. In my opinion the second game improved on none of the things that needed to be improved. It's a terribly boring game.
5. Star Wars: Force Unleashed - Waste of a license. But I guess taking the license seriously after seeing Episode 1 is hard.
6. Most (all?) MMOs are huge disappointments too but as that's now the expected result before testing any new MMO, I'm not sure I can even call them huge let downs anymore.

1.Trespasser: How could they make it play sooo badly

2. Chris Sawyers Locomtion. Much worse than TT yet it was made a decade later.

3. Stalker. I quite enjoyed till i got to combat then it just got truely awfull.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. I did the first mission but couldn't be arsed to continue. I came back to it a couple of months later, re-did the first mission, but then got bored again.

A similar thing happened when I tried playing STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl - while I did get bored with it after about 20 minutes, I do appreciate that it's probably a really good game, which can't be said for Dragon Rising. Perhaps I'll have another bash in the future.

Well I'm probably going to get a bashing for saying this but ...

1.World of Warcraft.

Simply because I'm not into mmo's like some other people are, so I never picked up this game until 6 months ago after being at college with someone who spoke about this game all the time. He used to tell me it's the most popular, the best online game ever, great players and community, amazing quests and story.

So I bought the "vanilla game" as he called it to give it a go. Well after him hyping it up to me, it was such a disappointment. Every single quest was "go here kill x10 of this" or "go here collect x8 of this" The game was absolute rubbish, fighting was beyond a joke. Point, click, kill, rinse, repeat :( such a disappointment after 2 years of this guy going on about this game.

2. KOTOR 2 ... absolute mince
3. Assasins Creed. I wanted to like this, but it was so boring :(
