Did you copy the backup file to a DVD?

I backup up HL2 too and copied it to a DVD but it didn't work. When I copied the file over to my hard drive before running it to install it worked - this could be worth trying!

This bottom one.. call of duty 2 mp at lowest settings, bilinear, 800x600 16bit colour I get a sturdy 10-20fps which rockets up to 30 when looking at a wall, the floor or the sky.
This would be semi-playable, if it wasn't for the fact that shooting makes it go down to 1fps (no MP44 or any automatic guns... I'm a rifle man but I can't use that due to the next problem):
Due to the low framerate and general struggling (I'm gonna place bets on the cpu since as its underclocked, it's running at 300mhz below minimum :p) It doesn't follow the mouse very well so aiming is a problem, and unless the guy you're shooting at stays still with an auto gun, you can't follow him as the frame doesn't change :p

It's quite fun :D

Need to get a new psu for the other computer..

Oh yeah, Razer Diamondback mouse.

Watch your language. I suggest you read the rules while on holiday.

A couple of upgrades already purchased.
1) Opteron 170 @2.7GHz
2) Powercolor X1900XTX @690 core, 800Mem

Next month I'll looking at replacing my Freezer 64 with a Scythe Ninja for a better overclock hopefully.
Possibly some after market cooling on the X1900XTX.
A new DVD RW to replace my curent one that doesn't read CDs any more. I have to have a plextor in there which will be removed too.
Mostly want to upgrade my mouse which is an original Microsoft optical mouse with 3, yes 3 whole buttons. WOW :eek: Quite like the look of the Razor pro.

Finally quit OGame, and I'm now gaming properly again. Oblivion, COD2, Sin episodes (when released)
