Your current Fish tank Setups!

Here's a recent shot of when I rebooted mine, I've since added sand.

Loaches can be great fish, I have a group of 10 Dwarf Chains, I bought them for their comical behavior rather than solving a problem I had created by overfeeding a tank than contained pest snails.

I've got some dwarf chains as well, and they are pretty amusing little things when they are active, seem to spend allot of time hiding/sleeping under things though.

Ours have cleaned out any snails we've got from shop plants very rapidly - they can't always kill the older snails without a bit of help to get through the shells but they munch up any new borns like no-ones business.

Wow a month later since adding fish OMG'Z UNCYCLED ALL GOIN DIE zero cardinal casulties.

Belittling the community that offered you help in the first place which you ignored, and then asking for more help is a little crass is it not
Im sure your figure it out.

Snails you say? Thanks to her indoors buying live plants from the local fish place our tank is now infested with snails. We have assassin snails, loaches but nothing is touching them.
Hand remove as many as you can twice a week, the assassins will do their job they just cant handle a massive infestation, so you do have to help them. Snails are good in moderation - I completely gutted my population and do regret it.

Just won an aqua one nano marine tank, about 36 litres. Comes with a damselfish and live rock with a few corals. Anyone got any tips on transporting livestock? Could be up to an hour in the car, but I do have an inverter to run a heater.

My original question was never answered re fin nipping just a load of woe omg'z die, so what help was offered? Was I to put my fish back in a plastic bag and wait!!

And it's you will, no?

Feel free to answer any of my questions however :)

Can anyone reommend any good online retailers of shrimp? I want to get hold of some red cherry and my only local stockists are a Pets At Home and they dont sell them.

There are 3 Maidenhead Aquatics near Reading and one west of Basingstoke if you're ever around there? Otherwise try Freshwater Shrimp, Sharnbrook Shrimp, Kesgrave Tropicals or Sweet Knowle Aquatics.

Did a water test on the nano reef today -

Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0.01
Nitrate - 1
Ca - 470
Mg - 1380
KH - 10.5
S.G - 1.026

And that was deemed good to go to add a little life. Bought 5 small Nassarius snails, a little button frag and I've also been entrusted with the shop's pet cowrie, who's been behaving itself in the invert system for the last 3 years. A quick google suggests its a gnawed cowrie, hopefully he doesn't get any bad ideas.

might want to leave the fish and coral at the shop and go back at a later date, get the tank set up first.

i travelled 2 hours to get my live rock so you should be fine, i transported in some polystyrene boxes.

You may have seen in what we bought thread but here it is my pride and joy :)

Over the next few weeks will be setting up, still need lighting, some flow pumps and a controller to buy.

Cheers :)

Damn nice there, Spook.

Lovely puss btw. :)

;) Many thanks

Love the black glass. How many gallons does that hold?

Next to a window though?

350 litres inc sump, window not a problem really, only get a little morning sunshine early on and only in summer, the blinds will always be at tilt at that time of the morning, temps are cool in that room so heat won't be a problem.

The build quality on these reefers looks excellent. The dream would be to have the 450 so I could have an Archilles Tang!

Honest mate the build quality is amazing, the beveled ultra clear glass is really something, well worth the money.

If I had word from the landlord that I'm here for the foreseeable future I would have one. Last year I was forced to move out of my place, and moving a 30" cube was an absolute nightmare!

Some nice bits of rock there.

Totally jumped the gun and added a couple of montipora to my nano. Parameters have been pretty stable so far so I might get lucky. I'm normally super conservative with my stocking rates but it seems corals can do funny thing to a man.

Some shots from last night under blues -
