Your email address - Important!

Mine was actually an email registered to a domain I haven't owned in years haha. Do I recall back in the day Overclockers not allowing generic email provider tlds to sign up or is that just my dementia?

The same people who go swimming with all the house and car keys, leave a wallet and passport on the bar in XYZ country and have left their child in a German service station and only noticed after arriving home in Forgetful Norton :D

You’re right. I think we used to insist on ISP email providers.
ISP, or educational/work addresses as it was from memory one of the only ways to cut the number of spam accounts down a bit.

What do I win if I've input the correct details? :D
The knowledge that it's much easier for us to sort your account out, I think we've had a few old accounts where we've not been able to verify them when someone has lost their password.

I thought I'd remembered that, I refused to register for years because I didn't want to create another email other than my Lycos address. Stubborn person that I was.

At the time we were getting absolutely hammered with spam registrations, hundreds of them a day at times so banning those addresses cut it significantly, and as we found more such domains we added them to the list.
I think I've still got a copy of it somewhere and it was hundreds of domains, some of which may at times have had a legitimate account try and sign up, but others that we only ever got spam from.

Cancel culture

Thanks Feek. My email address is correct, but I did fall foul of not backing up my codes, despite the HUGE YELLOW TEXT on the top of every page:p

A heads up for you guys with Samsung phones: I recently used Samsung Smart Switch to transfer my data and logins from an S20U to an S23U. I did this thinking that my Microsoft and Google authenticators would transfer as well, and then I formatted my S20U. However, only my Microsoft codes got transferred and the Google codes didn't transfer and that was where OcUK's code was stored. So check your authenticators before you bin off your old phone!
