More to the point, some people just decide to group them together, I've heard Gears and RE4 being mentioned as an FPS on numurous occasions, even by some games sites.

yeah i no, but there not, First Person means from there point of view, so basicly from there eyes, GEARs/GTA are third person because you see the whole body.

fps. only thing ive been playing at the moment though is supreme commander about once every 2 days.

last fps i sort of got into was rainbow six vegas and before that bf2

RPG - esp since WOW

I have 5 x lvl 70's

Thats what I call dedication.

I used to be a big fan of linear shoot 'em up FPS games, but now prefer open ended RPG's like Oblivion and go anywhere third person shooters like GTA.

I like a bit of everything

A lot of people mention liking FPS and RTS, which I find odd. One requires 'uber micro', the other 'uber macro'.

I'd say adventure games (just played grim fandango again) give the most satisfying hit, but find me one that lasts more than five hours...

FPS + RPG

I wanna maybe get Supreme Commander and get into RTS though... But sadly the latest game my rig can run is Battlefield 2 on low quality...

For me it would have to be either FPS or RTS. I think this will be everyones favorite too.

First game that got me into FPS on the pc was Half Life. I played other FPS games on the PC before that (Doom,quake,unreal ect) but it was HL that turned me into a big fan of this genre.

First taste of an RTS game on the pc was C&C...Nuff said.

Its kinda sad to see the consoles are now starting to get some RTS games. I just hope they don't dumb down the genre for the casual gamers.

Got to be FPS for me,

Cant bloody wait for Crysis (The most wonderful looking, promising game ever to date and possibly BioShock as well - early DX10 Babies) - Far Cry is still a game i play now.

I am saving for a new rig, from OCUK (of course) to handle the power required.

I dabble with c and c (a couple of my friends are true addicts - online games are great but i think i am the weak link in this trio of allies)

Half Life (like yourself Rob, was my defining point) it blew me away all those years back and i have bought every exiciting installment since (C'mon on episode 2 !!)

Call of Duty, Medal of Honour.....(bet i have missed a few)

So, definately, FPS for me.
