your favourite PC game and why

Morrowind.

It was just so huge. Also, it was the first game I played where you really could go anywhere you wanted, do anything you wanted, at any time.

I like free roaming games. I felt GTA allowed you to do this partially, which is why I loved it.

Not to mention stealing cars and killing pixelated civillians was fun.

FF7.

It was the first 'long' game i ever invested time in, and the first time i ever really listened to the radio. A lot of old songs now remind me of FF7, and vice versa.

Just hearing the battle music still elicits a 'squee' noise of delight from me.

Impossible to nail down to a single game as mine are usually dependent just as much on the community as the game itself.

If community as it was at it's peak? Dark Age of Camelot.

Otherwise - Minecraft, simple and endless fun.

Hidden & Dangerous 2: Sabre Squadron still holds a special place in my heart it was the first co op game I played with friends & was a fantastic example of a truly tactical first person shooter the likes of which we don't get now days.
Rainbow six rouge spear comes a close second for exactly the same reasons, sadly then they went and ruined the franchise (including Ghost Recon) by making them 3rd person cover shooters & poor ones at that.

Stalker. Even without mods, I know I'd be revisiting it more than probably any other game or series. The organic feel the game has, random variety and semi-open world is very different to almost any other game I've played. On top of that, you have some rpg mechanics and as yet for me, an unbeatable atmosphere to boot. Pro's heavily out weigh the many negatives it has.

An honourable mention also goes to Morrowind. Fantastic game.

Of all time, for me its Team Fortress Classic & Red Alert 2. These were the games that first got me hooked on gaming, TFC was one of my first PC games, and I have fond memories of epic Playstation 2 Battles against a friend on RA2.

Currently playing more BF3 than anything else and looking forward to Company of Heroes 2.

Stalker is a great series but it never quite reached it's potential in my view, during it's troubled development some of the features & ideas that they wanted to implement would have been epic but the team never realised a lot of them, the games are classics in their own right but if half of what was intended had made it to the finished product we would have had the seminal game of the era IMO.
Now I'm going to have to reinstall it with the complete mod again! I thought I was out but you pulled me back in!

I occasionally dust off Baldurs Gate II and play that for a while, brilliant game and still looks fairly decent. I loved the story and the gameplay and it's probably my favourite ever game.

DayZ is another one of my favourites, although the adrenaline rushes and unique experiences have started to wear off now.

BF3 is probably the game I've spent the most time in.

If you need any suggestions for mods let me know. ;)
