Ciabatta loaf sliced lengthwise. Olive oil and grilled for a minute.

Then salami, ham, mozzarella, jalapeños.

Sometimes substitute one of the meats for sliced chorizo.

Or breakfast:

Soft roll, butter, square sausage, potato scone and tomato sauce.

Pastrami, Onions, gherkins, cheese and mustard mayo on rye bread.
All grilled and melted together!

I'm very partial to a proper chicken and bacon mayo baguette.

Baguette needs to be fresh and extra crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on inside.
Roast chicken bits shredded. American style crispy bacon crushed and get the mayo ratio right. Plenty of black pepper. Butter on the baguette, with or without iceberg lettuce depending on mood.

White bread
Light spreading of butter
Good quality ham
Cherry tomatoes
Spring onion

No need to overcomplicate a sandwich.

At the moment:

- home made tuna mayo (tuna, green pepper, red onion, black pepper (lots), just enough mayo to bind things together, option: jalapeno)
- home made simple cheesy egg mayo (eggs, grated cheese (mature cheddar), lots of black pepper, just enough mayo to bind things together).

Both on some sort of crusty brown bread (varies depending on what I feel like) with no butter/marg. as it's not needed with a mayo.

I'd quite happily have most of the meat, cheese and pickle variants above (especially Raymonds) but don't normally have the ingredients to hand.

Thick cut white bread
Mayo
Fortnum & Mason's Pickle
Slow-cooked ham hock (from Waitrose)
Usually cheddar although I tried it with comte once and also cornish yarg. Both very nice!
Some sort of lettuce
Maybe some beef tomato

Yum.
