I know these threads pop up all the time but they're actually a great way of discovering great songs/bands.

I'll be really boring and say My Love - Justin T.

The Autumn Leaves - ATB is quite a nice chilled-down trance track too. It's really nice home to drive to after a hard, busy day. It's even better if it's raining :D

Megadeth - Sweating Bullets

And here i was thinking that no one listened to good music anymore! Man, what happened to good rock music? Depressingly, I couldnt say Im enjoying any current songs really. I find myself listening to old bands as I havent heard anything that really grabbed me in a long time.

Quoted for 99.99% truth, there are so few decent new bands around at the mo.. I constantly find I go back to 80s/90s Metallica/Megadeth/Dream Theater/whatever as there's little new stuff that takes my fancy (apart from the aforementioned Coheed and Cambria, also Black Stone Cherry are worth a listen) :)

I find that too, but I've been finding that there's only so much old music you can tap into before it gets a bit samey. I do still do it, but that's the way I find it I guess.

Having said that though, I think, speaking as a 'guitarist', that today's music just doesn't really excite. The 70's and 80's were full of good exhibitions of guitar playing - and the 60's to a certain extent courtesy of the Beatles - but a lot of music these days consists of basic riffs and no solos which I find most disappointing indeed!

A lot of arguments go down the line that the 80's was a decade of self-obsessed guitarists, soloing to their own demise, but that was a long time ago now. I'm sure there will be a resurgence, as there is with most things, but the likes of Razorlight and a bunch of other similar bands just don't cut it with me. Less seems to be more these days.
