I've stepped down from AAA gaming or anything that requires even a semi decent GPU and I've now got a little baby 1050 sitting in my rig, whilst I don't want to go back to gaming for hours on end what are some of your best titles that don't require GPU horsepower to get the best out of? I'm looking for something engaging but also that I can drop in and out of for small stints at a time.

The 1050 is still fairly capable surely, and can play last gen games just fine?

If you want really graphically undemanding games you have basically everything from the PS2 era; I would recommend Canis Candem Edit ("Bully"), C&C Generals, No-One Lives Forever 1 and 2...

Quake (1-2);
Unreal;
RE4;
Painkiller;
Eschalon (1-3);
Doom (1-2).

No doubt there are others, but the above will run on pretty much anything. You could probably throw in some mods where a few of them are concerned and still get good performance.

I have an ancient HD5870, which I'd assume is inferior to a 1050, and I've had no problems with Fallout 3, the Fear series, Skyrim, the Dead Space Trilogy (which I really loved), Mafia 2....I've even just tried Ryse from the free GameSessions offer and it runs ok on medium. Possibly you're underestimating what you can cope with?

Even a Radeon HD 5870 1GB plays Quake Champions on low settings with good framerate. Saying that, I was only on a 1920x1200 display.

Volgarr the Viking (love this)
FTL: faster than light (love this too)
Mark of the Ninja
LIMBO
Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams
Gauntlet
