Which one? Ford Orion 1.6 (non injection and it was the 'newer' shape)
How much: £2000
Insurance: £1200 TPFT

I loved the car, it was my first (as in I owned it lock stock), and had a fairly decent spec - that was coming from a hanging Metro though ;)

Sold it just over a year later at which point I was told the brake servo was shot and it was leaking oil from the head.

When: 17. Got the car about a month ago.
What: Fiesta 1.1 L reg 4dr sunroof, we piked all the ghia bits of one which was going to be scrapped.. it didn't come with a glove box flap as standard or a clock :eek:
How much? £300 with a pioneer cd hu and some stealth installed 6x9s in the boot flap.
Insurance? £700 f/c with 15k miles. :)

Had it about a year and a half now, and although I'm a bit bored of the power it still outhandles my friend's VTS now I've put some F1's on it. It seems to stick to the road and just slide if you give it too much power. I can't grumble with it as a first car.

:eek: I don't know what is more impressive... the insurance ( i pay more than that for a 1.6 golf!) or the fact that the car is the price of an appartment!

I'm actually quite suprised the insurance is that expensive - I always thought that once you stopped being a reckless foolish kid insurance on decent stuff became reasonable.

Mind you I guess it is 460bhp and does 0-60 in 3.something seconds, so on reflection.. :D

Presumably thats fully comp too, and if it does get nicked, thats an expensive day for the insurance company!!

It does, to a point.

Insurance companies could charge 5k+ for insurance on exotica, and people would pay it as :

A) They can generally afford it
B) They'd have no choice

Actually it's 480BHP :p
 
Well it's having a Tubi exhaust fitted from day 1 - that's worth another 20BHP. It is 135KG lighter than the M5 and has an extra 118lb/ft of torque.

Not that the M5 was ever lacking in the performance department.
