Your First Car

Awesome - do you feel like you're getting ready to take your test? How far are you off?

8 hours into my lessons, I find driving easy and my instructor says I'm learning fast, so hoping I'll have my licence by August at the very latest (only started my lessons at the end of February).

The car won't be ready for a while yet, she needs quite a bit of love and attention. Oh, and money...

Proton Persona, kept it for 8 months then used the 1 years NCD (bonus accelerator) to get a Honda Prelude.

The proton wasn't that bad, made by Mitsubishi for Proton so quite reliable, used a Lancer chassis and parts from the Colt/Mirage/Galaxy, it had an asthmatic 1.5 engine but the bodywork was old cans and the plastic from milk tray boxes so it shifted.

I started learning in February 2007 and passed 5 months later. Easily achieved back then. What are the requirements of passing at the moment?

Good luck with all your future motoring endeavours.

Wow, and you think thats going to get people to repeat what they said last week. Astounding.

Nope, but refer to this picture:

My first proper car is my current Honda Accord 2.0 bought when 22yo. Prior to that I shared a Polo with my sister when I first passed 5 years ago, but then was carless for a few years, but that doesn't really count I guess.

1997 I passed my test and bought I G reg, £3500 Pug 205GTi 1.9 in red...
