Your First Memory?

Quite a few old memories and cant tell which ones came first but I can remember my (female) GP using a wooden ice lolly stick to examine my todger. She pushed it left and I got a semi, pushed it right and it was raging. At this point she didn't need the lolly stick to look underneath.

Oh go on, I'll share it with GD - why not. My earliest memory is one of my most disturbing - maybe that's why it's etched in there? When I was just getting mobile - could even have been before I turned 2, I used to climb out of my cot and get into bed between mum and dad. I have a vivid memory of just one instance of that. Was getting into their bed at the foot end, working my way up under the covers, noticed a hairy thing, briefly hesitated, continued, the end. Yes, the hairy thing was of course MY MUM'S FANNY. Nooooooooooooo!!! Aaarrrgh why in god's name do I remember that!!! :( I mean I don't remember eating her boobs at all, thank god - I guess it must be pretty well evolved into us to thoroughly forget that sort of business, so damnit why do I remember this!?

After that I have plenty of fairly detailed memory of the first house we lived in which we left before I turned 4 - what the lounge was like, layout of my/my brother's bedroom, stuff we did (jumping from his bed to my bed), playing with a small space lego set, one Christmas playing outside where I ran over my brother's new plastic cricket wickets in my pedal car :), etc etc

Do we really need to know that :p

For me it's trying to pry off a battery cover and breaking a nail.

4th Birthday, can remember playing with toys that I got. (which some I still have stored away :D)

i don't know but a few very early memories i have are:

falling down the stairs
a dream about being flushed down the toilet with my 3 story car park toy
falling up the steps in the garden and smacking my nose on the step
asking my mum on the way to nursery why dog poo is white
my fire engine coat peg in nursery

i don't know which was first, lol

I probably have earlier memories than 4 as I also remember bits when in playschool (aka nursery these days).

You 'probably' have memories? Son, you need to up your game a bit after post #35 because we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You?

Did she comment on how brown it was?

I remember running toward the sideboard to get a sandwich when I was like 3 or 4.

Then nothing for about 6 years. Probably because I ran into the sideboard and smashed my head open so badly I spent a couple of months in the hospital - or so my mother tells me.

in nursery, getting picked up by my dad who was in college at the time. then its all fuzzy.

no. Wait, christmas many many many years ago, my mum was listening to "saturday night at the movies" (cant remember the band name now that I want to lol. probably 2 - 3 yrs old

I remember being in my cot before I could walk.

My 10 year old daughter swears she remembers me saying hello to her just after she was born (she obviously doesn't know the words but I do remember what I said to her). She says she remembers my voice with me staring down at her, and that everything was very blurry despite being in an incredibly bright room. I do remember her intently looking at me when born and I thought at the time that she must recognise my voice.

Remember the flat we used to live in in New York City, also remember going to the roof of said flats and watching 4th of July fireworks. Was probably 3-4 years old.

There was also a bunch of older kids (7-8 probably) that convinced me that a monster lived up the stairs of these flats.

Fire. I remember fire.

I was 4 years old and thought my 2 year old sister, fresh out of the bath and sitting on the rug in front of the fire, looked a bit cold. So I dragged the rug closer to the fire with her on it.

The rug caught fire, she suffered minor burns whilst crawling away and I stood panicked in the corner of the room. My mother came in to find my sister screaming, me shivering wild-eyed in a puddle of my own urine in the corner of the room and the big, fake sheepskin rug on fire.

After that there were fire guards everywhere.

Ahh, growing up in the 70s :D
