Your glass, is it half empty or half full?

I am sure that we all have heard the expression the glass is half empty/full.

Obviously (as I am sure that you all know) it basically means are you an optimistic type of person?

For me, I would say I am usually half full, however I tend to be realistic and hope for the best, but on occasion perhaps over think things when planning for the worst.

On a slightly lighter note (but related to the topic) I had a conversation with a friend about this, and he replied "some say the glass is half empty, I ask if there was anything bloody in the glass to start with" :p (he was talking about his self)

In my opinion while it is being filled it is half full, while you are emptying it (drinking it) it is half empty.

The optimist regards the glass as half full.
The pessimist regards the glass as half empty.
The engineer regards the glass as being twice as big as it needs to be.

half full if its something i like (think it will last longer)
half empty if its something i don't like (goes quicker)

but I'm generally optimistic *shrugs*
