ATi Radeon X800XT PE 256MB - Connect3D. Died and C3D were about as much help as a bag of snotty tissues.
ATi Radeon X850XT PE 256MB - Powercolor. Same as the X800XT.
nVidia 7800GS 256MB - Trying hard to resist the move to PCIe. Was actually a sodding quick card.
ATi Radeon X1950XT-X 512MB GDDR4 - Very noisy.
ATi Radeon 2900XT 512MB
nVidia Geforce 8800GT 512MB - Still couldn't stand the nVidia drivers.
ATi Radeon 3870X2 1GB

I also spent a week with a GTX760 but the drivers drove me insane so it went back under DSR.

Next step will most likely be an R9 290 next month.
 
From what I recall -

Vodoo 3 (PCI version!)
Radeon 9600 512mb (wish I had the 9800, classic!)
Nvidia 6800 LE (Unlocked/overclocked, can't recall exactly)
Radeon X1950 XT (AGP version - died)
Nvidia 8800 GT (A true classic!)
Nvidia GTX 480 (Fitted with a Zalman aftermarket cooler- hot mama!)

- Nvidia GTX 670 SLI (Upgraded to 1440p)

So not too many really. I switched early on but have been steadfastly Nvidia the last few generations. I try to bridge a couple of generations where possible as well when upgrading.
 
Some damn impressive lists here, mine stretches quite far back (1998) but is fairly humble.

integrated 8Mb ATI Rage Pro (I still remember the joy I felt when ATI released an OpenGL driver-I could finally play Quake 3...at low settings with vertex lighting :p)

Used to have a 486 with no discrete GPU (if it did it was rubbish) as far as I remember.

Then when I rejoined the PC race I started with a:

Was waiting for the new AMD cards but got bored and went for the 7950 deal. Maxwell or Volta next depending.

Same for me. I was never able to afford the top gear, with having two girls who took priority but I have had so many from the days of pentium. I do remember skipping the early PC's in favor of my Amiga 1200, which kicked butt but sadly died but for the GPU's, I have absolutely no idea and can't remember what I had for breakfast most of the time :D
