Your History of GPUs

Fairplay Gripen, that's an amazing gpu history!

You should get some of those old cards valued on the antiques roadshow.:p

Hehe well thank you all.
The probably most "valuable" card is the Creative 3D Blaster GeForce256 Annihilator Pro 32MB DDR which is still unused and in unopened box

Still I'm missing a 3Dfx Voodoo 5 5500 boxed card in my old cards collection :p

My list in fairly chronological order (not counting onboard GPU or laptop GPU's). When cards appear "double" it's because I've run them in SLi/CrossFire.

1. S3 Trio+ 2MB
2. ATi Rage IIC+ 8MB
3. Techworks Voodoo 1 4MB PCI
4. Guillemot Maxi Gamer 3D2 Voodoo 2 12MB PCI
5. Guillemot Maxi Gamer 3D2 Voodoo 2 12MB PCI
SNIP!

You need help!

Awesome collection Gripen!

My card collection is:

9250se 64mb (poor)
9600se 128mb (poor)
9600le 128mb (poor)
9600xt 256mb (budget rocket - ran HL2 suprisingly well)
9800pro 128mb (fast but ran hot)
x850xt 256mb (nice card - clocked very well)
6800ultra 256mb (used heaps of power - my generic 450watt psu struggled to keep up)
7800gt 256mb (ace budget card - £50... no complaints!)
7950GX2 (probably the most fun i've had with a card - aircooling modded quite heavily)
7800GT (returned to it while i save for the 8800)
8800GTX (very fast card - took everything in it's stride... awesome)
2900XT 512mb (very fast but hate CCC and uses heaps of power)
2900XT 512mb x2 (as you could have guessed big performance but equally big leccy bills!)
2900pro flashed to XT (just used while i waited to sell and downgrade to the 3850)
HD3850pro 256mb (featherweight in cost, appearance and power usage - a true GPU gem!)
8800GTS *G92* (Nearly as fast as the GTX - nice card)
3870X2 (great card spoiled by duff drivers and ATi's terrible CCC)
HD3850 (holding card while i waited for the GX2)
9800GX2 (By far the fastest card i'd ever used up to that point - eclipsed all of the above by a very good margin!)
6600GT (interim card to tide me over)
HD4850 x2 in crossfire (Incredible performance that just tipped the GX2 - driver issues caused microstutter though)
7800GT (back to 'old dependable' as my interim card)
GTX260
GTX260 SLi (cheap/epic performance)
GTX470
GTX470 SLi (cheap/epic performance... again)

Edit: Also got a 240GT 512mb installed in my HTPC. :)

Erk, I feel old looking at this post. I don't even know why I remember things like this:

Unknown CGA
Unknown 16c EGA
Cirrus Logic VGA
VLB SVGA (Believe it was a Trident card)
Cirrus Logic 5446 with 2MB Upgrade
then additionally: PowerVR2
3DFX Voodoo 1
STB Velocity 128
Diamond TNT2 Ultra
PowerVR Kyro2 64MB
Creative GeForce 2 MX440
Creative Geforce 4 Ti4200 (Design flaw that wasn't easily detectable meant I needed to send this back to Creative in either Norway or Denmark - they send me a new card before having to send that back - those guys rocked)
Reference Geforce 6800GT
Inno3D Geforce 8800GS
BFG Geforce 8800GT
The above card blew as many of them did - BFG replaced with:
BFG Geforce GTX285 OC FU Edition
ATI Radeon HD5770 (Current)

Hehe well. That's the list since sometime in late early 97/98 where I became increasingly interested in hardware and especially graphicscard technologies.
Also I use to have two PC's so when it's upgrade time or so that would usually be upgrade time for both

I still have some old hardware (AGP boards, 1GHz PIII's etc, 256mb pc133) to enjoy and test some of the old hardware on windows 98SE and some old classic games (HL1, MDK, Gunman Chronicles, Soldier Of Fortune etc).

I'll see if I can remember :p

Voodoo 2
Voodoo 3 3000
TNT2
Radeon 8500 (loved this card)
Radeon 9800XT (wow what a boost!)
Radeon X1900XTX
Geforce 8800GT
Radeon 5770
Geforce GTX 570 (current)

Lets see if I can whack my brain:
TNT2
MX440
Ti4200
9600XT
6800 (of some description, I think?!)
1800XT
HD 3870
HD 4870
.... and now eyeing up a 6870!

Hmmm, let me think! If I remember them all it goes something like this:

Diamond Monster 3D
Riva TNT
Geforce 2 MX400
Geforce 3 Ti500
Radeon 9600Pro
Radeon 9800Pro
Geforce 6800GT
Geforce 8800 Ultra
Radeon 4980
MSI Radeon 6950 Twin Frozr II (Current Card)

Nvidea FX 5200,
Nvidea 6600 GT,
Nvidea 8800GTX,
Currently using a WC Ati 5970

still amazed at how well the 8800gtx held up, only sold it off in the end as bought a new system.

First machine had some 2d/3d split riva card I think
2nd one had some godawfull onboard thing
Voodoo 3 3300
