E6600@ 3.0GHz
1 GB RAM
Gigabit motherboard
7600GS nVidia jobbie

Arch runs like an absolute dream :D

Just installed Fedora Core 6 on the following...now that it's on there I haven't a scooby what to do with it.

IBM Thinkpad T30
PIVm 2Ghz
256Mb RAM
40Gb HD
ATI Radeon 7500
D-Link USB wireless card

Setting up the wireless card was a bit of an uphill struggle and i still have to type /sbin/modprobe ndiswrapper to kick it back into life if I ever reboot.

First thing I did was set up Beryl which performs reasonably well (which was a pleasent suprise).

  • Intel C2D E6600 CPU
  • Asus P5B Deluxe motherboard
  • 2GB of Crucial Ballistix DDR2
  • 2x 10k RPM 36GB WD Raptors

Server, not strictly linux but meh, it runs FreeBSD 6.2.
It does pretty much all network services, DHCP, DNS, NATd, Firewalling etc. It also runs my local test site which I do most of my development on over SSH using Vim. I also run Irssi on it under screen, so I'm always on IRC pretty much. I also use it for Usenet downloads with HellaNZB.
  • AMD A64 3400+ (The 1MB L2 cache one, can't remember the codename)
  • 1GB of standard Crucial DDR
  • 2x 80GB IDE Seagate Barracudas
  • 2x Intel Pro 10/100/1000 network cards
  • No graphics card

I'll only post my main one (I have others, but I don't want to waste time by putting them all here considering that I rarely use them :p):

Running x64 Ubuntu 7.04 on-

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @3.33ghz
2x1gb PC8500
ATi X300SE
Gigabyte P35-DS3P
2x WD Raptor 16mb 36gb, but can't RAID them in Ubuntu on this board :(

80gb Seagate Barracuda 7200.1
Akasa Eclipse

I also have x64 XP and x64 Vista installed, but I'm seldom in them.

I'm running a Athlon 3200 Venice, 1gb dual channel DDR400 on an Asus A8N VM-CSM motherboard. Was originally running Beryl on the onboard 6150 graphics and it was excellent, but it's now got a Leadtek 6600GT in there :)

Hard drives are a couple of PATA Western Digitals, one with / and the other with /home. It's all in an Antec TX640B.

And Ubuntu 7.04...

As below really, soon to add an 80Gb maxtor drive and wireless network card.

while i'm hear... if i wanted to connect an Xbox (non 360) to my Linux-Box to share the internet connection how would i go about this?

Thanx

James

Not sure if this counts but:

Router:

CPU: Intel Celeron Tualatin 1.2Ghz (running @ 1.1Ghz due to RAM being 100mhz, not 133mhz)
RAM: 256MB PC100 SD-RAM
GFX: Onboard Graphics (S3)
Sound: Onboard sound (Unknown)
HDU: 20GB 2.5" 4200rpm notebook drive
NIC: Realtek 8139 10/100 (x2 - one WAN and one LAN)
PSU: Enermax 285W Active PFC PSU.

O/S: pfSense (based on m0n0wall with improvements) 1.2 Beta-2. Services - DHCP, DNS Forwarder, Firewall, OpenVPN (soon to be installed).

Power was the main concern as it is a 24/7 operation.

Abit AS8 Mobo
Intel P4 Prescott 3.2Ghz
4x 256Mb DDR 3200
Nvidia MX440 64Mb
WD Caviar 320Gb SATA
32x CD Drive
Enermax 465W PSU

Anyone recon compiz will run any better with a better graphics card?

Main Fileserver (SuSE 10)

Athlon64 3400+ (socket 754)
Asus K8N(?) Motherboard
1GB
Nvidia 6200 Graphics
Netgear Gb Lan card
Soundblaster Live
DVDRW
160GB EIDE (caddied system disk)
4x 200GB SATA (Raid 5)
2x 300GB SATA (Raid 1)
Stacker Case

(when i can get around to it it will probably be upgraded to a C2D 2160, 2GB, Nvidia 7300, 250GB SATA System disk and 6x 500GB SATA for data).

Most of the other systems dual boot SuSE and Ubuntu with Windows.
