Hi,

Recently had a quote from Churchill and Halifax for £2000 for a 1.4 98 Clio RT (20, 0NCB) Ended up going with Barclays for £1180. :)

What's yours?

Hastings Direct quoted me something like £4000 for a 1997 BMW 740i, nationwide quote £900 for the same car.

Quite silly and very annoying that i keep getting flyers from them. :(

£14.5k on my fiesta st from some company on confused.com

LOL

Highest quote i got was £4000 for an Fiesta ST. The cheapest quote i got for an FTO was £3500, wouldnt like to think what the highest would be.

£8.5k for my Leon TDi Cupra, managed to get it for £840 from Admiral in the end, funny how different companies make such different quotes!!

Im 17, tried to get insured my my .900 Cinq... £2,100... on my own on Provisional lol

Its not the same, but budget van insurance quoted me £4,500 to insure my van fully comp for delivery driving, so i sent them a webnote on their site about just how much more expensive they were than everybody else, and how they should change their name to "Extortionate van insurance".
I got a letter 2 days later saying how i could break down the premium into easily managed monthly payments.

Well that makes the fact that you are £4000 more expensive than my current policy all the more appealing.

£18,000 via confused.com on a Mondeo ST220 when I was 18. More amusing than that though was that another of the companies who had quoted > £10k actually called to ask when I'd be taking up the policy!!!

This is an absolutely pointless thread becuase I am sure everyone here has had utterly ridiculous quotes which companies use becuase it's more polite than saying 'Please go away, we do not want your business'.

But anyway, £10543 comprehensive for a 2.0 Mondeo at 19. What does this proove? Nothing at all, simply that that particular insurer did not want my business.

I haven't had any *really* silly quotes for a while so I thought I'd try to get one. I've just ran a quote for a 2006 911 turbo and it came back at £1100 fully comp.

I guess I can get insured on most things for a decent price nowadays :)
