Your mouse technique?..

Razer Imperator 2012 - Claw grip.

I developed the 'Claw Grip' when I was using a Razer Copperhead and found my aim and precision increased massively. Won't go back to palm grip now, or palm grip mice. I had to carefully decide my next mouse after my Copperhead died. Imperator has served me well so far.:cool:

I've been using the Copperhead for around 5 years now and I use the palm grip.

Going to have to decide what to use for my Steelseries Sensei... probably still us the palm.

Enjoyable game tonight with a lot of the ocuk crew. GG's all round thanks for playing. Shame some of them are quiet, can never get a word out of Jimbu yhack and the others.

I'm currently using some rubbish logitech wireless deskmouse from a KB+M bundle I got 7 years ago

I have no idea how it's lasted so long.

But anyway, I *think* I use a fingertip grip. Wrist is sat on the desk, and only my fingers are touching the mouse. I've noticed with some games, I can see the crosshairs move in 'stages' if that makes sense, even if the mouse is moving smoothly. Is that purely down to DPI? Either way, it makes sniping or looking at far off objects a pain in the arse.

Would anyone be able to recommend a decent wired mouse to suit? Generally for playing FPSs and MMOs with, but not too fussed about having macros up the wazoo. Ability to change sensitivity on the fly would be nice. Was looking at the Logitech G500, but not sure how well it would sit with my mouse technique.

i claw grip, my hands are way to big to palm grip, and i have a rat 7 fully extended and using the biggest palm rest, and my palm is still no where near it

Never move my hand, just use my palm to do everything because i'm lazy :p. Using a DeathAdder and i've not had to change sensitivity in any games apart from CS:S which is 6.0.

my palm doesnt touch the mouse, i grip the sides with thumb (for side buttons), little finger on the other side and have my index and middle finger for clicking

Palm grip, index finger does left click and scrolls, middle finger right clicks, 3500dpi, 1000hz polling, I rarely move my arm, just flicking my wrist can easily do a 360

+1 this is exactly what i did with the same mice...

Left handed, so...

little finger and thumb are on either side of the mouse;
ring finger rests inactive just above the little finger (on the Razer Mamba, this allows it to activate the buttons there);
middle finger operates left mouse;
first finger operates right mouse and middle/scroll wheel..

I hold the mouse in this fashion at about a 20 degree angle, much like the shape of the letter 'Y'

Mouse is the right hand top spoke, and my arm/hand is the middle straight line.

The way i use my mouse is quite weird, i use a fingertip style grip. I use very high dpi. For slower precise moves i will move the mouse within my grip and use my palm and thumb to control the speed so i don't really move my wrist that much. For more faster twitch aiming i just move my whole wrist/arm.

Even now with just web browsing i can cover around 50% of my screen without moving my wrist its only if i need to move into the further edges/corners of the monitor i actually need to move my wrist.

Hope that makes sense :P

I have used the 3 finger technique since the scroll wheel was introduced... so i right click with my ring finger and scroll with my middle...
