Your next car?

If I go to work for BMW I'll no doubt have my choice of company car, if not, I have a few options, Porsche, Merc, BMW, maybe even a noble depending on practicality... shall have to see once I've sorted my job out! :D

As you say, as far as you are concerned ;)

As someone who runs a GT3 as his daily driver and lives with bucket seats and a ride that makes a 968CS seem like a normal saloon for me its not an issue. I would agree that it's not for everyone, but to say its not suitable as a daily driver is wrong as for me it would be fine as it is for the guys who I know that run them as daily drivers. Horses for courses, it was your generalisation that I took issue with.

I agree, and I am currently looking to buy a 944 for just that purpose though not because my GT3 is hard work but because we live in a world where fools like to damage nice things sadly, which is why parking it in train stations and public car parks is a real issue.

Well I'm looking for a new one now, nowt flash... just cheap and fun.

Quite possibly going to be a Renault Clio 1.8 RSi or a Xsara VTR at the mo.
 
I'm still deciding on what i want out of a car, i've been looking at 200sx S14a's though. Found a local one i may go and test drive tomorrow actually... :)

Although like i said i'm not really sure what i want out of the car.... do i base my next purchase ( which will be made within the next 6 months max) on what i need or what i want :o
 
In 2 years, no car at all probably/nothing interesting as I'll be in the city...

Say 4 years, 335i if it's justified.

5 years, obtain an Ariel Atom as a toy.

6,7,8 years+... depends, I'm not a fortune teller but for now I'd probably grab a 911 with... a 325-335d.

I am nothing if not a realist, sadly.
 
Not sure really, TOTALLY depends on how much I manage to save whilst I slum it in london for the first year. Ideally, something along the lines of ...

s2000, Porsche Boxster, VX220 Turbo, VX220 2.2 with a Supercharger, Exige,

but if I manage to blow loads of cash when I should be saving...

205 diesel.

i've found some potential pads in london, and if im a good boy and save, I should without overtime be able to put away ~1k pcm, and considering i'll be working most saturdays and plenty of long days, I think I should be able to add a fair whack ontop of that \o/

yes, it will be an absolutely disgustingly overworked year, but it gets me a house deposit and car money ;)

More likely the latter, i speak from experience lol
 
I will keep the CL500 for the next three years or so before changing. In an ideal world that would mean a BMW 650 or maybe even M6 have dropped into my price range, which would be my preference.

However, I think in three years it may be time to start a family which means sacrificing my love of coupes for something more practical body shape wise. Mrs T wants an estate or Chelsea tractor. So I gave this some thought and an RS4 Avant would probably fit the bill but I have this nagging feeling that the Chelsea tractor will win out with a Lexus RX, Mercedes ML or BMW X5 topping her list. One of those for her and and a 335Ci for me might work.
