I always like to have a little extra juice in the tank in case you need it, better to have and not need than the other way round (PSU)

Not at all, I have an M4 in my laptop and have yet to go SSD for my main computers at home or work, due to reliability and cost/capacity. SSDs are brilliant but it is an infant technology in computing terms
