Outlook has been working fine and i have had this issue before but a restart solved the problem, but not this time.

I have configured everything correctly, both with SSL enabled.

  • Incoming server (pop3) 995
  • Outgoing Server(SMTP)465 then tried 587

I have:
  • Tried with SSL disabled, but this results in a communication error with the server.
  • Installed Outlook again
  • Increased the timeout from 1 to 2 minutes.

Now i know this works, and i know all my settings are correct, so why is this happening? I've had a search but cannot find anything determining the reason for this 'glitch'. I have infact managed to send an email while completing this post, but i've tried again and it's back to the same old error message.

Any info on this, or indeed updates etc are appreciated.

Cheers!

Seems to be working fine enough however, I'm receiving time out errors quite frequently, but still, the majority of times this sends without any issues at all.

How secure is this method though?
