Would it better to leave it plugged in if one is always next to a wall socket?
If the charging algorithm holds the phone at 100% it isn't good for the battery - hence why bypass power is a useful feature.

I've got a pixel 8 with bypass charging enabled and it only charges to 80%. I've started to leave the phone plugged in 24/7 except when I briefly pop out. When I return, I plug it straight back in.If the charging algorithm holds the phone at 100% it isn't good for the battery - hence why bypass power is a useful feature.
Do you use your phone in your hand while it's plugged in?I've got a pixel 8 with bypass charging enabled and it only charges to 80%. I've started to leave the phone plugged in 24/7 except when I briefly pop out. When I return, I plug it straight back in.
What a completely pointless 'feature', why would anyone charge their phone to 80% or whatever then keep it plugged in a socket.
Surprised it wasn't Apple that came out with it and tried to claim it's some amazing new thing.
Yes I do?Do you use your phone in your hand while it's plugged in?
You can disconnect it from the wall and take it out. Can you do that with a landline? It’s a phone plugged into the wall. It’s no longer mobile - it’s a landline.

It's pointless having any further discussion with you if you think you can take your landline wherever you go.Of course you can!
You're putting strain on the usb port.Yes I do?

Valid point but my cable is 3m long and sometimes it wirelessly charges. You're putting strain on the usb port.
I wouldn't that's for sure.
It's almost like some people have never heard of a hotspot or a tether?
?? I work from home 8 till 7pm most days -- I could just leave it plugged in and not ever worry about it.What a completely pointless 'feature', why would anyone charge their phone to 80% or whatever then keep it plugged in a socket.
