Just set the cameras shutter speed to slightly slower and hold it still :)

It's a long exposure, if you've got a compact camera then rest your camera against a wall turn the flash off and if you can set the exposure to a few seconds, it'll capture the light as it moves past. :)

That particular shot was taken with a canon A80, set on manual shutter speed (of 0.8 seconds as it happens) and automatic F (apeture) setting. I held the camera on top of a post box for stability as I'd left my mini tripod in the hotel room! Times square is so bright, you can't have a much longer exposure!!

Have got a few other long exposure shots of different places which came out nice which I'll post up when I've got a little more time.
