Your Rating of The PS3 and 360 and Reviews?

Interesting isn't it that some people seem to be obsessed with 360 failure rates when no accurate large scale surveys have been made by indepdent organisations (small minded journalists trying to make headlines or fanboys don't count!) people seem to forget that such studies were made for the ps2 with conservative figures at almost a third of the hundred odd million units sold failing. As for my experiences with the consoles I own both and have owned every previous console going all the way back to 1977 and I have to say that the 360 is the first console to completely satisfy my needs, in terms of the steady supply of very high quality titles on a developing platform. It has even encouraged me to spend less time pc gaming which is a first. As for my large black dust collector all that seems to do is run folding at home very well. I bought resistance which i found to be a dull soul less experience that rips off just about every previous fps and sci-fi movie for the last 10 or 20 years and when combined with a rumble-less light weight controller that only disconnects you the experience further its very hard to feel excited about the platform. Sure motorstorm is pretty but I'd rather wait for DIRT which is bound to be a deeper more satisfying experience. And let us not forget the messy live experience on the PS3 (where's the headset??) it just isn't well thought out. Overall my current opinion of the PS3 is that it does a great job of summing up the sony gaming experience as a whole "an awfull lot of hype and hot air and not a lot to back it up" So as an owner of both platforms I would much rather buy 90% of my games on the 360 ie mass effect, guitar hero 2, forza 2, halo 3, bioshock, kane & lynch etc etc the list goes on, and use my ps3 for some blu-ray titles and the occaional game. But thats just my opinion

I wouldn't say people are obsessed by the failure rate of the 360, but it is an issue. And not simply because of some 'small minded journalists trying to make headlines'.

I've had 4 in a year, know people who have had muliple 360s and have seen a relatively high number of people post on here about their 360 breaking at least once.

PS3 - 5/10

Only a few good games out at moment and there online service is a joke but i'm sure in the future there online service will be improved, also the pad is tacky, triggers don't feel right also :( I paid £700 for a JPN ps3 last year and sold it about 3 weeks later :(

Xbox 360 - 8/10

a lot of good games, and an excellent online service(Very important for me) also the pad is the best i've ever used :)

I've had all 3 consoles and the 360 is the only 1 i have left, though i will be picking up a ps3 when there is a price drop

PS3 9/10

A great all around console with everything i need for a good price, no frame rate problems on the games i have! The Macintosh of the console world! Everything that you already own around the house for other needs works with the console so you dont need to spend any more money!, Music on the ipod can be transferred straight to the hard drive. QUIET! Great blu-ray playback.

Xbox360 5/10

A buggy, sluggish system which is too loud and is not reliable at all. Have to buy loads of peripherals, so at first glance it seems a good deal but after you have been bought in by the peripherals it steadily creeps to a higher price. Stupid greedy Microsoft.

Woah hold your horses there. You've got to remember that they don't just pay the price of the hardware to get it to you, supplying the peripherals in a fashion where anyone can customise their console with the indvidual ones they require costs more due to many things.

They're doing many users a great favour.

Well either a HDD or a memory card, but really that isn't any different from any consoles from the past two generations.

You still don't NEED to buy either of them to play :)

I don't see why you're being so pedantic, as if you read my post properly you'll see I'm actually agreeing with you that it's not a big issue.

LOL the signature checker is calling me pedantic? :D

I read your post, and you still don't need to buy either of them, do you? so your the one being pedantic by suggesting you do.

They are offering you more choice though (i.e. if you want to, you don't have to spend any money on peripherals at all), that's fact.

Haha!

I mean you have to buy the periperals to make the most of it!

Josh

Remind me how much a memory card cost for the PS2 when it was released? £35 was it not?

So you go to the shop tomorrow and buy a premium 360, what do you need to buy on top of that to get the most from it?
