Your storage hacks?

Rent a big storage container > dump all the crap you know you don't need but refused the throw away > enjoy the space > refill the space with more crap you don't need > fil the storage c..... oh wait its full > get a new/bigger storage container > ad infinitum > feel bad

I find the vacuum bags initially useful, but over time they lose their vacuum ability and you find they've just expanded where you left them
Can you recommend any, mum got some from couple of places but they are crap, she wanted them for her wool.

storage master. They seem to stay sealed for a very long time. Other bags that I've tried start to lose their vacuum after 2-3 months and expand slowly. These don't.

I had this idea to store stuff in the garage that was either too heavy or awkward for the loft.

Rather than putting the shelving units flat against the wall as I had previously, I had this idea of turning them 90 degrees and placing some wheeled containers between them. Added some rack bins just above where the black containers would sit.

When I need access to the shelves or bins I just slide the containers out the way. Worked out quite well.

Now you're talking that's a great setup!

With our not that small Vango 600XL airbeam tent I use a vacuum bag with a few dozen silicon bags thrown in and once shrunk to the size of something usually seen after a swim in the North Sea, it is then strapped with mini ratchet straps and stays small enough to fit into a large roof box for ever.
Hacktastic.

Reminds me of the archiving from an office I worked in, apart from the racks where on wheels and you (via something that looked very much like a ships wheel) moved the racks from side to side to get access.
Of course much office bants and japes were had with people moving the racks when someone was in between them.

I've never managed to get the knack of it, always ping between solutions for room designs etc and never settle on one.

I know what you mean! I'm learning Fusion 360 for 3D printing purposes but find myself bouncing back to Sketchup for larger designs and initial ideas.
