Your thoughts before I order?

Guys wanted to say thanks for your help.

PhoenixUK, I did take on board what you said about 2nd hand and so had a look through the MM (in fact, most of my current system was bought through the MM) but I didn't see anything immediately obvious, and since my current rig is dying (random reboots, random freezing, doesn't always POST) I wanted to get something asap. So I just ordered this:

Crucial RealSSD C300 64GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive (CTFDDAC064MAG-1G1) £102.12 1 £102.12
OCZ Gold 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 (1333MHz) Low-Voltage Dual Channel (OCZ3G1333LV4GK) £76.59 1 £76.59
Asus M4A87TD/USB3 AMD 870 (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard £74.03 1 £74.03
AMD Athlon II X4 Quad Core 635 2.90GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail £68.93 1 £68.93
HIS ATI Radeon HD 4850 iCooler IV 1024MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card £68.08 1 £68.08
Akasa Dual 2.5" SSD/HDD Mounting Kit £5.10 1 £5.10

I'd pick a cheaper tri-core to save some cash and probably picked a better cooler instead but yeh it looks good anyways. Goodluck with building and hope it all works good.
You'll see a massive difference from your curent rig ; ).

Thanks PhoenixUK, I know where you're coming from but to be honest these days I want something that "just works" without me having to muck about, and while overclocking was more important in my younger days (am I really mid-30s now??!!) I'm not bothered about an aftermarket cooler for that.

I think if I clocked it right up and it died my wife would not be best pleased she couldn't do her coursework! So stock is fine to be honest....

And as for my current rig, well......I'll be glad to see the back of it put it that way.

And actually I have one more question (I know, I know)
Would the faster 1600Mhz version of the ram be ok in this board? Two minutes after ordering I noticed it's down in price to the same as what I ordered!!
