YOUR Xbox360 IS faulty

Surely you are not suggesting they will recall 11 million machines to add a heatsink if they are not faulty  that's why they extended the warranty, every machine that has the three red rings will be fixed with an extra heatsink and returned to people handing in a faulty Xbox360

Yes more than likely you would but at least you would have a reliable console... What's more important to you the quality of the hardware or playing some games now? (Probably the later) yet if we were talking about software most would say we would rather wait for a quality product rather than a rushed one, funny that...
To be honest, I'd prefer a rushed product with a degree of bad design rather then the situation the PS3 is in now. I'm still on my launch day machine and I've been extremely pleased with how it's performed.

I thought repairs were currently 25+ days? If so that isn't a speedy turn around at all, even two weeks isn't really exceptable. If it was your TV an engineer would be on your door step in 2 days, and if it couldn't be repaired you'd have a new unit within a week from most manufacturers.
Well 4 of my mates who all ended up buying 360's in Jan 07, are on their second or third console. A mate recently had his third console replaced with a brand new one and 2 or 3 free MS games. He had that machine in a week.

As for repair turn around, they've received their machines back well within a week. I never asked about what the specific problems were. However with the extended warranty kicking into effect soon that turnaround is going to be a lot longer.

Thats pretty bad for Microsoft but what can be done.

In all honesty they are great consoles but their reliability doesn't seem to quite cut it now. Even though you have a years warranty or 3 for the three red lights, point is it shouldn't be happening. Especially when people shell out 200+ notes.

Falcon will sort that out now anyway. They are no longer making 360s with the old system setup. All 360s in development are using the revised hardware. This includes the Elites being released in Europe soon.

Jesta, add me too, United fan as well :D

Darn Im torn now,to buy or not to buy?

I heard from other people in this forum a while ago that when their 360 went kaput they took it back to the place they got it from and they got a straight swap for a new one?Or am I incorrect?

Ive doen that with a shop before, i cant name as competitor, did it twice (2 difference consoles, i own 2) both got straight swapped.

I work in one of the main highstreet games retailers (the one that got bought out by the other, blue/grey logo) and we straight swap for the entirety of the 12 months.
