Just use Brave browser. No need for add on’s or a VPN.
Brave works brilliantly doesn't it? There are also good addons for MS Edge which work just as effectively.

In all fairness, id pay for YT Premium...however I don't want to hear about Harrys razers, Surfshark, Carvertical etc. Sponsor block is an absolute god send in that respect

Can you use sponsorblock for Brave on Android?

Why would you pay full wack for it though? While not as easy as it used to be you can get it much cheaper using a VPN.
My YouTube premium sub via Argentina got cancelled last week. I tried signing up again using a Ghana VPN but not had any luck. I went in incognito mode and changed all the settings and billing address to a Ghana location, YouTube is also showing up as Ghana with a little gh in the corner and also showing the Ghana ip. But whenever I try to renew it's still reverting to £12.99 a month?
Any ideas on a workaround, what if I had genuinely moved to Ghana what would happen in that scenario?? Thanks!

There has been a big crack down on this in the past few months it seems. My sub is still working but it likely is only a matter of time and I did get an e-mail last week saying the price is going up. I'm using the Philippines which wasn't the cheapest to start with but I couldn't get Argentina to work for some reason.

My suggestion would be to try a different VPN and browser and if that fails use a different country. Edge is my go-to these days for a browser that doesn't have any of my data on it as its not my main one, so I use that for this sort of thing.

I think some adblockers still work so if you are only subbing to remove the ads you could try the Brave browser for example which I think still blocks them but haven't tested it in a few months. It is Chromium based however so likely won't work forever.

Big thanks for your help. I'll try sign up again using Edge, I've read you now need a payment card registered to the sub country in order to sign up?

Not as far as I'm aware unless they have changed it. I don't think I even changed my registered postal address at the time.

I've been using my Halifax Clarity Mastercard for all these sorts of subscriptions without issue for years. Mainly because of the lack of fees and better exchange rates for currency conversion.

A lot of people use banks like Revolut / Monzo because you can create individual virtual cards for each subscription for better control and many of them also don't charge fees for currency conversion.

It also might depend on what country you are using as I seem to recall the issue I had with Argentina was that they switched to only allowing cards from that region. So might pay to double check with a google search if the region you want to use is also doing the same.

uBlock Origin is still working fine for me on YouTube. On my Android phone and tablet I'm now using the YouTube app patched with ReVanced, which has the added benefit of being able to skip sponsored segments in videos too.

Thanks, I tried again with my Clarity card and revolut but no joy. But a work around on the techkings forum worked for me, happy days:)
