YouTube and Facebook notifications on 2nd device

I mainly use my phone for YouTube and Facebook as well as chrome. Just turned on my tablet after about 2 weeks of not using it and it's basically had a fit receiving a flurry of notifications.

Is there any settings somewhere to stop it doing this? Apart from turning them off all together.

In android you can chose what apps can show notifications. I feel your pain, I have actually put my tablet down and gone back to my laptop before because I knew it would just be a mess of notifications when turned on.

It depends on your tablet, but anything recent generally means that holding on the notification will allow you to mute notifications for that app.

Alternatively some apps will allow you to turn off specific notifications in their settings.
