Hey all,

Just wanted to get some of your opinions...

When you watch a video on Youtube do you decide to watch it in Normal Quality or do you automatically go for the High Quality (Or HD if supported).

Give your comments and post your vote in the poll :)

Thanks,
Marky

I'd always opt for High Quality if it's an option, same with iPlayer and Vimeo

I like to see things in the best quality I can; animation, well produces films and things there to impress visually I would always, but if I'm on youtube just to listen/watch a music video, meme or otherwise - I'd maybe not consider it.

HQ always goes on automatically.
HD I click when possible.

Normall quality looks like ****, HQ is about watchable.
Should ban all the low quality trash from youtube. Or at least create a HQ section so I don't need to watch one vid any more in unbearable quality.
Also on vids that don't show the HQ button I always do &fmt=18 and it works about half the time :D.

Would only use poor quality if I'm on my dads Vodafone 3G.

Dangerous, how do you get the video to show at much wider resolution in HD?

When I uploaded 720 x 576 video, the viewing size didn't change, apart from the video quality.

Also if you could share your workflow.

Thanks.

To get it widescreen you need to upload a video with 1280*720 or bigger and if you want HD then 1280*720 with H264 codec.

Workflow? The process I use for rendering/uploading?

Thanks for the info.
Yeah, I like to know what type of program you use to post process the video.

thanks.

I use Adobe Premiere for editing the outputs a Cineform Aspect HD AVI then either use either MainConcept for H264 encoding for YouTube,

Or throw back into Adobe for compressing into WMV for downloads.
