Youtube not working with Firefox/IE.

If this isn't the right place to post, mods please move it.

Just recently I've found that I can't load youtube with Firefox and IE. It just stays on Transferring data on firefox and Waiting for youtube.com on IE. I can ping it OK.

I downloaded and installed Opera and it works there. But it turns out strange.

Can anyone help please

Works in FF and IE fine for me.

Delete temp files, and try full refresh.

Make sure Javascript is running and working. Check if flash is working. Tried reinstalling the both of them?

Is there anything weird going on in your 'hosts' file, search for it and then open it with note pad and see if anything strange has been added.

Yeah, I tried reinstalling them. Java works fine with other sites. Still nothing

Just checked it, it remains unmodified.

(java =! javascript, ones by sun the other by netscape)

What extensions/add-ons are you using for IE and FF?

How do I check if Javascript is working? I don't use any addons to FF/IE.

There is an option for it in preferences, but the easiest way is to copy this into your address bar:

javascript:alert("IT WORKS!")

It should come up with a message box. JavaScript is usually enabled by default.

had the same problem a few months ago
uninstalled flash n reinstall and it was fine after.
there is a flash removal tool you can use to clean it out, but cant remember were i downloaded it from

Okay, I uninstalled Flash and reinstalled it. But it still doesn't work

It works with Opera, so I'm not sure why it doesn't work with FF/IE. I'd rather use IE/FF to browse.

Sometimes there are problems with accessing sites when your MTU is too high / low / at default (I forget now it was such a long time ago)...

Though if this is only happening recently and you haven't changed any network card or router settings then I'm stumped.
