YouTube Premium

Steaming video really isn’t cheap, it only works at gargantuan scale.

I’d be surprised if YouTube actually made a material amount of profit. Don’t forget, YouTube isn’t Netflix, every single video* ever uploaded is still available to play on demand at anytime.

*functionally… yes before you say, a tiny minority of content has been taken down by YouTube or the owner for reasons.

For those of you that have access to the MM. You can always get a family subscription and sell the remaining slots. It's 6 accounts total for £19.99 a month. My Wife and I kept a slot and I sold the other 4, for a year, on the MM. They were all gone in minutes.

This is how I've got mine although through one of the subscription sharing sites rather than the MM. Works well for me as I only need a single premium account, costs about £4 a month.

You don’t think YouTube makes a lot of profit?

They're definitely cracking down I'm getting issues with my browser now its like they're fighting the ad blocker. Conversely the ads on the TV are getting worse they kick in every two minutes on average its infuriating you can't settle down to watch anything without being constantly interrupted

spotify apparently captures device (phone specific) ID's so can tell if you've had multiple trial subscriptions ...
taking that further being able to identify prinicpal use country of a device/subscription, and seeing if it matches billing country, can't be encroaching on GDP requirements too much

For all you that have been kicked out of countries, do you have your normal account as the main account?
I have mine set as a stand alone account and added myself and family members to it?

When I was kicked out of India I was using my main account. They don't close the account or anything.

Currently in Poland but have the same setup as you. Was kicked out of turkey before. Just waiting for the boot again. I thought it might make a difference but they caught up with me eventually

It certainly looks to be the end of a cheap family subscription.
I got evicted some time ago from Argentina, and have been paying the UK price for a while now, I've been keeping an eye on this thread in case a new vacation opportunity raised it head, but its not looking good :(

My time in Chile is coming to and end this month.

Is anyone planning to sell family subscription slots in the MM soon?
