The sheer scale of the size of the protests in Egypt is incredible. Apparently around 1.5 million people protested against Murbarak, close 20 million people have protested against Morsi:
It doesn't seem to be an indication of hostility. It seems to be more that they're "painting" distinctive objects that will attract media attention (including, for example, a balcony that a a BBC reporter was doing a live broadcast from). It attracts attention and it shows cohesion - it only really works if many people are doing it at the same time.
Egypt becomes free, so they democratically vote in an oppressive self-serving Islamic government then becomes shocked and surprised they're oppressive self-serving Islamic government, you can't make this **** up
