It's fake. Unless they used fairly sophisticated eye trackers and software to shift the image around on the screen around as the "victim" moved around the room, then it would look like a very obvious flat image close up rather than a far away background. It might work with eye trackers, but never with just the screen on its own. And clearly they didn't do this because you can see the image remained static while the applicant was standing and then sitting down.
One way you might be able to get around it is to have it covered by curtains or blinds, and then open them once the applicant has sat down. But the applicant will still move his or her head a bit even when sat down, so it wouldn't be a perfect illusion.
