Looks like a simple magic trick using paper with chemicals that react to the foil to me, also his walking on paper was quite amusing too, small Chinese man weighing probably less than 50Kg Vs. Bigger Westerner weighing at least 70Kg.

Ye the paper one I reckon is just down to him being able to spread out the weight evenly across the base of his feet, so he isn't puncturing through a certain point.

Yes but it's not a one off trick claimed by a single indidvidual. Hundreds of martial artists or even thousands have claimed to do exactly the same thing without chemicals, foil and paper.

I've seen them 'claim' they can walk through walls, fly, live 500 years.. Whenever they've been asked to substantiate any claims they always seem to be wearing the wrong pyjamas that day. Real life is not a Jackie Chan movie.

What facts?
I'd of thought that was obvious? The facts if it were true.

Well to be honest I have not heard any claims made like that and the one posted is certainly not about that either. Real life is about considering the facts and consequencies of such things if found to be true: which is "real" life is it not?

The relevance of the facts was asked to be considered in connection to the example being true-which-at least makes perfect sense to me if you were to look at the wider implication of such things: and how do you know it isn't true when you are simply expressing an opinion; or at the very least throwing out an opinion, as though it were fact anyway?

Also, in connection to this, you will note I was never claiming it was true: merely that it would be fascinating if it was.

Something is either a fact or it isn't. Pyrokinesis is neither true nor a fact.

The notion that pyrokinesis is untrue isn't just "expressing an opinion", its making a statement of fact that is back up by a vast amount of evidence. Compared to which that video amounts to nothing.

Wow! Try actually having some experience of martial arts or look at the evidence there is to suggest it is before trying to make a statement claiming the proof of Quigong amounts to nothing. without this your statement amounts to an opinion.

you're honestly saying there's all these people able to do pyrokeinises and not one has ever made themselves possibly the world most famous man by having it proved on tv?

what was that competion for something like a million dollars for anyone who could prove they could do something like this :/

If it were true we'd see more interesting stuff than a rod looking warm on an IR photo, or moving when he's holding it. If he could heat from his energy he wouldn't need a piece of metal foil and a liquid to dip it in prior to making magical heat. If you could heat things by energy rays coming from your hands you'd be a fool to try and demonstrate this by using props that doubters could use as a much more plausible alternative explanation.

What facts? Looks like a charlatan to me using a handwarmer, the magic of an exothermic reaction and a trick with the paper. Do you buy this stuff?

You are entitled to your opinion (and in this example you may be right). I admit it is an opinion I have come to expect from you ;)...but so what-it doesn't exclude all the other evidence along with the experiences.

Why try and convince people with that shoddy video if there's better evidence?

I shouldn't get too carried away with the term pyrokeinises. There is evidence to suggest that people are able to redistribute and generate unusal body temperatures to protect themselves in extreme conditions. Mainly Tibetan monks. There is also evidence of a sort suggesting minute recordings of "energy" having a measurable effect on the environment too.
