It also makes you think of how messed up the laws over there are. Although I agree I'm glad she didn't get off I think the attorney defending made a good point that about the fact that the woman would have gotten a more lenient sentence for killing the same boy.

I also think that she shouldn't have got off without a penalty, though that was obviously an insane sentence. I actually thought the judge didn't look altogether comfortable handing it out either, though I've only seen the video once so I may need to look again. Part of me felt that the defence lawyer was unprofessional / damaged the 'chances' of her client by being so emotional, but it was also quite refreshing to see that someone cared so much about the situation in hand. :)
