They've joked about that themselves when on tour, saying that you could tell where they were going to be performing by the tails of the horses in the area.

They're classical musicians. This side of it kicked off when they put together a music video and put it on YouTube. 10 million hits and Sony bought them.

I think Smells Like Teen Spirit works particularly well as an electric cello duet:

But they are bona fide classical musicians. If you look on Youtube under their names (Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser) you can find videos of them playing classical pieces.
